No positives. Lost a 13 point lead at halftime and gave up three open layups in the final 1:37. Seven of DePaul's last nine attempts were layups or within five feet. No fear. The positive is that we won when we easily could have lost. Cook is just a disaster on defense. I do not see how a Georgetown team with him logging big minutes at the 5 will be good defensively. His time needs to be limited next year. As far as Massoud, he’s a disaster. I don’t understand why he’s playing anything more than spot minutes. Yes, I am very disappointed in Massoud. Not a reliable three point shot. He seems to be regressing rather than progressing. Seems like he has lost his confidence.

That was a must win game for DePaul. Glad we came out on top. The same can be said about us - it was a must win game for the Hoyas DePaul had zero wins coming into this game. They were playing on their home court. New coach. I think they really wanted this one. The real point, though, was that it made this game competitive and more entertaining!

These 3’s were big, I hope the momentum carries over Yeah, that was a very good sign. We need another threat.

Good, solid game by our guys! Saw some signs of progress and coming together as a team!

I like Brumbaugh a lot! His three-point shooting smacks of confidence, and he is a really good facilitator!

What is killing us as Hoya fans is not being able to get out from behind the eighth ball! We have not had a solid, seasoned team where players have played together for as much as three years. For the last 5-6 years it has been decimate to rebuild. And we have never managed to rebuild. In retrospect, Ewing was probably the worst thing that happened to this program. Great guy; love him, but have to admit, not a great college basketball coach. Now we are right back at square one, what has become the status quo, albeit under new leadership—rebuilding time! I believe we are in much better hands with Cooley. But I want to see players come, stay, develop, and just love playing together as a team! Losing is no fun, but we have to keep it all in perspective. Just saying.

Wolf a player for Yale who is playing at Columbia in NYC and likely transferring (according to twitter sources if they can be believed). My plans for that evening got rescheduled anyway so might go watch. I really appreciate this level headed assessment. I have made similar assertions in the past and I am, quite frankly, exhausted. We are getting better. I know it does not look that way. Losing is no fun, and makes it more difficult to see progress.

Who are the players that will more than likely be with us next year? We have a good, solid team. The way I see it is if we can bring back all our current players and add a couple of real beasts, we will be making some noise next year.

Hats off to our guys who played courageously! Mental mistakes are killing us right now! That and Epps not being able to find his shot in the first half.

Too much bulk! Too much fatigue! They just matched up with us better than anyone else in the conference. Have to take your hat off to a welll-crafted team.

I think Epps is a perfect example of just how close we are to turning this thing around.

Not realizing that she was doing the same thing😎 Exactly! 😂😂😂 Well she was just seventeen You know what I mean And the way she looked Was way beyond compare So how could I dance with another, Oh, when I saw her standing there Well she looked at me And I, I could see That before too long I'd fall in love with her She wouldn't dance with another Oh, when I saw her standing there Well my heart went boom When I crossed that room And I held her hand in mine Oh we danced through the night And we held each other tight And before too long I fell in love with her Now I'll never dance with another Oh, when I saw her standing there

She wasn’t pretty, but she was all that was left standing around late at the party. So I said, “Ah, what the heck!” Not realizing that she was doing the same thing😎 Exactly! 😂😂😂

I wonder how our conference rivals Xavier and St. John’s did it. Sure, they’re not competing for a Final Four this year, but at least they look respectable. At this point, the bar is so low some here would think that 3 BE wins would be a success while using all sorts of excuses. Have you noticed how Cooley says no excuses, but then throws around a bunch of them? I bought Cooley’s introductory press conference hook, line and sinker. I was pumped. I was a believer. But, as I said when recruiting closed for this season and the roster was set, I don’t sense the urgency from Cooley and staff. It might be that they know that there’s nothing like GU job security. I realize I'm regurgitating facts you already know PR, but it's also why these takes, like the Casual Hoya piece, feel devoid of reality on some levels. Are most of our expectations incredibly low? Yes. Have we thus far even hit that incredibly low bar? No. But it's been 14 games. Total. 2 with a full roster (or at least the full complement of rotation pieces). Heath missed nearly the entire pre season with a foot injury. Epps has been injured or sick 4 different times. Massoud broke his hand. Rowan missed a week. For those that want to criticize Cooley for season 1s lack of depth or even enough talent - seems like fair game to me. But also there needs to be some reality mixed in. The staff had been recruiting to fill Providence holes with a message of competing for BE championships. Now the message overnight became, we can offer you a ton of playing time on a team trying to resurrect a program before theyd even stepped foot in the doors of the TAC. A big change. Guys like Fielder were on board, as well as recruits like Sorber and Mulready, but that's a much harder pitch in the portal. They went after lower minute or unhappy with their role players at other Power 5s. I'd say they hit with guys like Styles and Epps while missed with Massoud. Cook was the plan D at Center and honestly, he's been mostly OK compared to others. They retained 3 good character guys from the last 2 BE win team. Unfortunately none of them are high Bball IQ or BE starter level talent. The cupboard was bare and their years of recruiting focus changed overnight. Now they have a bag of NIL to work with and time to lay the groundwork and planning for a roster with hopefully some of the foundation set up. Now take Xavier and St. John's who you mentioned. Miller is in year 2. And took over a bubble level team that went 23-13 the year before he took over. They won 4x the BE games in the year before Miller took over than we've won in the last 2 previous seasons combined. Same with St. John's. 18-15 last year. 7 big east wins. And instead of keeping 3 character guys on a horrible team, Pitino got to keep a 1st team All BE player at a premium position to center things around. And has no current plan for the future as they have 5 of their top 6 players exiting after the season and not a decent recruiting class in sight at this stage. I'm not sure they're even top 40. So it will be all portal all the time again and another class of mercenaries. I don't fault that approach, but one has to admit it's much different than the one Cooley and Gtown are taking. As for Cooleys "excuses" or lack of urgency...it's 14 games. Less than half of season. They're bad. So he preaches patience. What's he supposed to say? It's like the Pro sports owner or GM who says this is NOT a rebuild...when it's obviously a rebuild. He's not dumb - he knows this year's going to suck. He shouldn't have to say it out loud. You guys know I was very supportive of Ewing. In hindsight, that was a mistake. The last five years were devastating to the program! Let’s give Cooley three years! If nothing changes, let’s get that guy over at Providence.
