I fear a little letdown after Friday night’s game with a loud crowd. I hope I am wrong, as we have basically played 5 straight halves of competitive with high effort, but I just think it’s a game where there finally some expectations to play well. That coupled with the emotional PC game on the horizon.

That coupled with the emotional PC game on the horizon. That would be pretty bad - this team absolutely has to keep building. We’re taking baby steps as it is, and can’t afford to step back. Don’t have to win - do have to play hard and make it competitive, as we’ve done recently.

To me real progress will be consistency and a game like this against an opponent we aren’t totally outclassed by will be a good test of that growth.

If we want to have a real chance at, let’s say, 5 wins, we need this one. It’s very winnable especially being at home.

Team is getting better. I fully expect our best game of the year. Let’s hope it translate into a win.

HAVE to avoid the one step forward two steps back of recent vintage with Hoya teams. Torvik site has Gtown as 4 point dog with a 33% chance to win. If you take into account only the last 3 games it would be closer to a pick 'em.

I am a fan of Brumbaugh- I think he can be a leader, but he does need to perform. Hoping Cooley and staff are working on him- because he was showing signs of improvement...

Showed signs of improvement vs non big east opponents. He’s slow footed and can’t run a team vs high caliber athletes. He should never be your primary ball handler. At best he’s your 4th guard on very good team.

The team, as a whole, is improving! I look forward to the rest of the season and next year.

He's had a disappointing stretch but c'mon, the guy is only 18 games in to his college career. Plenty of time left for him to improve and become an important part of the team. Pronouncing judgement on him at this point is a bit over the top.

Has had a chance to see the speed of the game at this level and will need to adjust. Understand he is redshirt but he also didn’t get any game time last year. Seems more intent on showing he can dribble without getting the ball stolen off him at the top of the key than in actually instigating the offense. Needs to just focus on moving the ball and not trying to show he “belongs”.

Needs to just focus on moving the ball and not trying to show he “belongs”. So he has a high dribble sometimes and this was even a problem on Kenner where he could get his pocket picked right in front of him by a fast defensive guard for an easy fast break lay up the other way. This didn’t happen much because it’s no defense Kenner but I took note of it. Then this started happening in OCC and Big East play as team started to accumulate a file on his tendencies. His counter to this was to go to a Magic Johnson/Mark Jackson backdown dribble. But this is a slow move so takes even more time off the clock. And Rowan isn’t 6-9 where he can use the backdown to see over everyone and pass and Rowan doesn’t have Mark Jackson’s hook shots where Jackson would backdown players and make automatic hook shots. If a player serenaded that tightly to stop it, he had easy passing sight lines. Rowan has neither of that so all his backdown dribble does is ensure ball security at the cost of time and passing. He was a much better passer with his face up dribble. True he got his pocket picked with it for east layups but that happens to Epps and even fundamentally sound Cam Spencer one or two times a game. He has to go back to that and stop with his back-drown dribble.

Brumbaugh will be an important part of our team's success. He will be a winner. Just wait as he learns, grows and improves his shot and confidence.

The best description of a freshman is that they become a sophomore. This season is toast, the best way forward is to give minutes to Rowan and Fiedler. Collecting splinters on the bench does no good other than encouraging them to enter the transfer portal and get time elsewhere.

Georgetown +3 seems like a trap, no? The public will probably read too much into the Xavier game. Georgetown is a better team since the mid-December loss, but still not good enough to handle Butler. Butler's offensive efficiency is 48th, Georgetown's defensive efficiency is 257th. That's too big a gap for me to be hopeful. Still, I'm going to the game and will cheer loudly.

I'll be there. Third game of the season for me. Holy Cross & Syracuse.
Can't be as bad as those two, right?

He looks like a winner- as has been said. Did you forget about his game winner against Notre Dame- or the three treys in the second half that basically beat Depaul? Give the kid a chance- he is in Cooley's doghouse right know, but won't be for long, I'd bet
