Would be nice to have Epps and a dialed in rebounding defense back this Saturday.

This is such a no win game. If we win, we'll of course we should have as DePaul sucks. But if we lose, the narrative may get pretty ugly here. Let's hope for the former, and just move on...

I hope our ticket staff is figuring out a way to give free tickets so we have people in the stands. Hard to expect many people to pay to see the two worst teams in the Big East, especially for a noon game when students aren't in town.

Dan wants the season to be over so bad he's moved this game to February.

Kind of have to have this one. Maybe a simple W cures some ills and gets a closer against some mid-tier teams.

Plus the weather looks lousy and those of us traveling from long distance might not attend.

Predicted attendance, 4200 announced (whether it bears any reflection to reality . . .) We should start a "predict the attendance" contest in addition to the predict the score!

Since these are both your team believe you should buy two tickets.

Would like to see the ball move. The guards are taking 10-15 dribbles before passing. This limits the touches of styles, Massoud and cook and when they do get the ball there’s 7 seconds left which gives them little chance to do anything and leads to jacking up the shots.
We have no chance at winning ( barring Epps going on fire) if the guards don’t get the forwards and bigs involved.
Was watching the Seton Hall Providence game and both teams move the ball. They will dribble/hold the ball for at most 7 seconds. We can’t have the guards dribbling 10-15 times like Kryrie Irving. That doesn’t works and takes your other players out of the game.

This is the most important game of the year- DePaul at home to avoid being the worst team in the conference. Can we at least be better than DePaul while playing at home?
Hopefully Epps heals quickly...though last time he came back from injury, his effectiveness was greatly reduced for a bit.

DePaul is really bad, arguably worse than any Ewing team including last year. We need to win that game.

Agreed professor. Getting the initial action going is taking too long. It limits our options if we need to reverse it as the clock is too low by that point. Just getting the ball to pop and move should open up more looks as Cooley has said this is his best shooting team and we really have no inside presence. If we had a big that could post & pass, we would have something with shooters like Massoud/Epps/Brumbaugh/Fielder/Styles on the perimeter. Against the good teams I would do nothing but move the ball and chuck 3's. Against the Depaul's of the world, we should be able to get enough to not have to rely on a hot shooting night. I'll be at the game +1

Don't disagree. But I think it's more evident when Epps is out of the lineup. Part of the issue is that at any given time there are 2 if not 3 non offensive options on the court. Bristol, Cook, Fielder (at this point), Bacote, Ryan. If any combo of these guys are on the court you're very limited to where you can give them the ball or allow them to put it on the floor. Thus you see those dribble handoffs at the top, eventually getting the ball into a facilitators hands and when the first or second option isn't there off a set action then it leads to 15 seconds of dribbling and a forced shot. This doesn't negate the blame from the staff. I just think it's less about in game coaching and more about the limitations on the personnel they put together for this season.

If we don't win it is kind of a take your ball and go home situation. Lotta Yates work to be done against the top intramural squad if we lose this one.

My kids were acting up last night. I told them if they keep it up I’m taking them to the Hoyas DePaul game and they have to watch it all with no phones. They’ve never acted so good in their life.

If we lose today, I may have to take a few days away from this board as it will become insufferable.
I would encourage my fellow posters to remember that this is a game, that we follow team as a pasttime, and none of the lives of our friends or families are at stake. This is entertainment. If you are not enjoying the entertainment, go for a walk or pet your dog, or go do something with your significant other or kid.
