Matt McMahon of Murray St. got Ja Morant out of South Carolina to Murray, KY (USC had offered him). He is now 25-2 two years after Morant’s departure. He makes $500,000. Downside for us is he’s not a regional fit.

Gillespie went for 33 vs. the Friars. To think he has 3 more years left.

Never heard of ‘em. But it’s something. A lot of us around the DC area have heard of them, because DC United famously switched their home local broadcasts to them one year out of the blue and it was so bad that they terminated the agreement for cause midway through the season and the games were broadcast for free on DCUnited.com the rest of the year. So, with that inauspicious background... they've been pretty mediocre with the Big East Digital Network this far, in my experience. When Fox Sports had the deal, you got some economies of scale from there, especially around production values, having a better app, etc. But so much of this stuff - cameras and trucks, announcers, etc. - is now all done on a contract basis anyway, so the changes are not as drastic as they might have been otherwise. It's still way overpriced compared to what ESPN charges, but niche stuff often is... Some are saying (read Johns Hopkins supporters) that flosports is bait and switching them; advertising a monthly option and then denying such exists-and billing for the year. A link was posted on fanlax of a BBB complaint alleging this exact practice. I signed up for a $12.50/mo. option (and have a receipt for it) with every intention of cancelling after the Big East Tournament. Now I am wondering what my charge, when I see it, will be. The Big East Conference and Georgetown are being skewered, quite fairly perhaps, for having anything to do with them.

I don’t understand how anyone can watch this team—or even just look at the win-loss record—and not conclude that a change is needed. You could have stopped at the hyphen.

Words I never thought I’d type: Georgetown a 10 point dog to De Paul.

There is no “other than Jay Wright”. He is the answer. Although it has been reported that they blundered into one National Championship before was hired Villanova was a perennial “also ran” in the Big East. Their on campus arena is no bargain. Their student body, however, on the whole is much more athletics conscious than ours. If you drive through the campus you’ll see a majority of them wearing some type of athletic wear.
Wright had been an assistant to Massimino. He became the head coach at Hofstra and had success. Steve Lappas, Villanova’s coach, was neither successful nor loved. Many ‘nova insiders were clamoring for Wright to be hired. The Villanova administration could not have been considered proactive or prescient. Lappas had one more year on his contract and although it was common knowledge he would not be renewed, rather than eat it, they would have let it play out. Wright was all set to take the Rutgers job.
Lappas, however, reading the handwriting on the wall, left Villanova early and signed with UMass. Villanova lucked into Wright and the rest (2 National Championships, surge in applications, money pouring in, massive construction…..) is history. Call it fate.

How many BE games would Jay Wright win with this exact team? How many games would they win with an average coach I trust that Georgetown would never seek to hire an average coach. But to answer the question I’d say 4 to 5.

Does anyone know how the games can be viewed? They were previously on some CBS Sports app. Now, on the schedule, several show a logo I do not recognize next to some Big East logo with no further explanation. Thanks.
*I see it’s the Big East Digital Network/flosports, which, apparently exists, but under Georgetown Men’s Lacrosse lists no upcoming events. We’re No. 4 in the country. Has been Johns Hopkins is #19 and just about all their games are on ESPN. Am I missing something or is someone seriously asleep at the switch?

Tyler Beard, a graduate of legendary Whitney Young H.S. in Chicago, needs to start. No shade on Dante. It's just the right thing to do. It’s come to that.

The Hoyas have got to start each half not falling behind big. Out of all the things, that has hurt us the most (having to play catch up from a big deficit). If this same thing keeps happening over and over and over again, at what point do you, personally, start to attribute this to coaching? Or is it all on the players (as Ewing would lead us all to believe)? A long time ago.

That darn white suit game...I thought he changed OUT of the white suit? 2008 I believe? I’m sure you’re right. Memory fails. Either way he just oozes class.

Remember when Pitino changed into the white suit at halftime vs. us? He loves him some attention. ( I think it was actually John Wooden who originated the change into white suit at halftime move). Betcha he’d have us in the top ten within 3 years…….and I still wouldn’t want him.
