That darn white suit game...I thought he changed OUT of the white suit? 2008 I believe? I’m sure you’re right. Memory fails. Either way he just oozes class.

Remember when Pitino changed into the white suit at halftime vs. us? He loves him some attention. ( I think it was actually John Wooden who originated the change into white suit at halftime move). Betcha he’d have us in the top ten within 3 years…….and I still wouldn’t want him.

Like to see him against non-CYO competition.

Until recently on the GU Alumni web page there was a link to an Alumni Directory whereby people/classes, etc. could be searched for any reason or no reason. This no longer appears to be the case. I called and received a written voicemail which told me how to connect with “Affinity Groups” via the “Network” tab. This is not what I am after. Does anyone have knowledge of this.

The Siena board says their beat writer was denied permission to speak to Orr and Carey. Freshman may be allowed to speak to the media now, but good to see some element of paranoia remains intact Or we could just abandon it altogether.

Athlon doesn’t know the GU administration very well.

They would have done better to let Scanlan sue them.

The early departure trend could complicate the package deal idea…..for any team.

Don't they say Michael Jordan was cut from his HS varsity team in his sophomore year? I think part of that story, though, is that he was still 5'9" as a sophomore and then had his big growth spurt. Anyone know how tall Brandon was in 8th grade? Exactly my point. They love to write things like “Michael Jordan was cut from his high school team” because it makes good copy. In most cases they neglect to add that he was cut from the Varsity as a 10th grader, in large measure probably, because the coaches wanted him to get the floor time on JV. That worked, out.

Was he cut from the 8th grade team? I kinda doubt it.

Dirty play. Dirty player (though it wasn’t what caused the injury). Aitken’s hit on Smith, on the other hand, was clean, old school lacrosse.

I’d like to express my admiration for the selfless and gutsy performance by James Reilly. After being hurt after the opening face off and being down for several minutes, he went back out there. It was not noticed by the announcers (because, I think, they weren’t there) but he, almost immediately, collapsed in a non-contact situation. Great career for the Hoyas. He can play for me any time.

Looks like for the first time in about 30 years it’s OK to play physical lacrosse again. They are at a different level today.
p.s. No matter how in vogue it is and how in love you are with it, if your surname is Shellenberger you do not name your kid Connor. Something in a nice “Karl” would fit.

Getting players who are good enough to make a big impact but not so recognized that they are one and done is the coin of the realm now. Our friend at Villanova has come close to perfecting it.
