A true Hoya, worked hard and gave his all every night. He excelled at the dirty work of defense and rebounding. He will do great things both on AND off the court.

In no scenario is Carey not ahead of Sibley. Carey is a proven commodity. Yeah, Carey did not come back for this upcoming year to come off the bench. He will be a starter and team leader this upcoming year. I have no inside information and Sibley could announce he is entering the portal in the next hour, but I would think if he was not happy at the school or with the program or staff, he would have announced his intentions a while ago and found a new school by now. If I had to guess, he was waiting to see what happened with Baldwin and Pickett, and if either of them was going to be on the roster for next year, he would then look for somewhere with a cleaner path to more playing time. Both Baldwin and Pickett are not going to be part of the program next year, so hopefully Sibley see his best opportunity to be with the Hoyas. I think Carey came back to play whatever role Coach Ewing asks him to play. He seems like a prototypical team player. |

I have zero doubt that Dante is working every day to get better. Develop a floater and moves to finish inside, get his shot a little more consistent and he will be a killer the next 3 years.

There just does not seem to be much chatter or buzz at all that he’s coming here. So, no - other than the general annoyance constantly caused by Duke and its fans - I don’t feel like we are being slighted here. We just don’t have a shot in this one anymore. If we ever did. Or it is the epitome of a Hoya recruit. No noise about Georgetown. Other schools are sure he is theirs. Then boom! Hoya Saxa. |

I just enjoy how we have a real shot against duke and this would be a huge win but it is annoying how dragged out it is and crystal balls are meh to me especially with quiet ones. Did we even have any for Aminu whose recruitment was not this quiet? Ryan seemed like a lock towards the end but we still had a bunch go to Tennessee. The world is usually against us (until everyone jumps on the hype train lol) and that would only matter if we had a glass jaw so we are still here and got a great class coming in and maybe a Pickett returning (ik they said farewell but it ain’t over until it’s over and most euro leagues of every sport are hurting bad) so he can come or not but I like our stance and it would be awesome if he did We don't have a real shot against Duke, it's just this message board talking itself into delusion. You do realize TC that your words might carry more weight if you had not insisted - over, and over, and over, and over - that we were wasting our time recruiting 5 stars. Then came Aminu. |

Under the old system Malcolm or anyone else would have to sit out a year. So transfer not as appealing. Under new system everyone gets a free first transfer so that eliminates biggest barrier to transferring What you’re referring to is a single use covid exception for the players so far, not incoming ones though. It’s not the system that has changed...it’s a bump in the road. Not a new system, just a one year feature of the system. Similar adjustments (covid considerations) have been made to almost all systems around the world. In other words, a temporary and very justified accommodation. Also, not sure sitting out a year is actually the biggest barrier to transferring (for a player like Malcolm, who could use as much time as possible for development). NCAA just approved a rule change, all players going forward can transfer once without sitting out. |

The only mention was blueandgray's post last week that he believed there were suggestions of a possible decision sometime within a week and that we were absolutely in the running. Everything took off from there.
