With at least 4 spots open, I assume any new Coach will also look to transfers to fill out the roster. It'll get more clear once we see the style of the new coach but we can still get high quality Transfer targets in one place. Not that I think we'll go after him, but maybe we'll end up having a trade with Nebraska : ESPN 4* PF from 2015.

But with 4 slots it'll be tough to fill that with all immediately available quality players (freshman, grads, and JUCO). I wouldn't be suprised to see a new staff persue some transfers. Plus I thought it was funny that a player at Copeland's position is transferring away from Nebraska. Does he see the writing on the wall or does he not like the coach (who is on a very hot seat).

I agree that the new coach will need to get a few players who are immediately available (grad transfers or 2017 recruits) to fill the roster and make the team somewhat competitive for next year, but if the right transfer was available, even if he had to sit one year, the program needs to take a hard look. This new coach won't be looking at this as a one year turn around so finding players that can help build the program is worth a one year wait. There is also a chance there could be more scholarships available once we hire the new coach. There were rumors of other current players considering transferring ( I have no idea which players) and some of the current guys might decide the new coach is no their type of coach and then decide to transfer. New staff should look at all possible ways they can re-stock the roster for next year and beyond.

Add another McD's player from the Duke transfer tree. Bolden & Jeter gone. I hope these kids are paying attention. Duke & Kentucky (and to a lesser extent Kansas) have this happen a lot. Bring in tons of talent, and let it wash out if need be. Where are guys like Josh Selby, Cliff Alexander, Dakari Johnson, Marquis Teague, Ryan Harrow, Daniel Orton, Michael Gbinije, Rasheed Sulaimon, Semi Ojeyele, Jeter, Derryck Thornton, & Harry Giles. Coack K seems like the worst offender on this list. Cal will take a guy and let him go pro if he will get drafted.
Self makes them earn their time but coach K blatantly recruits over other 5 star kids and shamelessly gets a kid like Thornton to reclassify and promptly has him ride pine. Dirty dirty coach K. I hope kids are paying attention.

Why is Harry Giles on this list? Isn't he going to the NBA?

Kansas is the worst offender. If you are in the McDonald's game you should probably be a OAD, but Kansas is like 50% in the past ten years. Even a guy like Chieck Diallo, who won the MVP of the game two years ago, averaged just 3 ppg in 7.5 mpg did go pro after one year. Also Ryan Harrow shouldn't be counted because 1) he wasn't an AA 2) he went to NCSU before transferring to (and then out of) Kentucky

My list wasn't scientific or even well thought out. The kid from Wright State can straight fill it at guard but I heard he is a bit of a head case. Not in a bad way just that he overthinks what he is doing at times. Should be on him as a grad transfer.

The more I think about it, I'd love to have them. 2 and 3 years left, so that'd keep some roster balance instead of being heavy in '18. They'd hit the court at the same time as any other recruits Ewing gets but could guarantee solid production. 19.2ppg 9.9 rpg and 3.3 apg by Dedric. 12.3ppg and 8.1rpg by KJ. Plus they'd be more mature, ready to play in '18. Also their main reason for transferring is to further their NBA aspirations. If we can get them without hiring their father (although he isn't in a recruiting position at Memphis currently) that would be perfect. Plus they have a brother in the class of '19 thats a 5 star *and I just learned another 5* brother in 2021.

Former 5* Carlton Bragg of Kansas is transferring. I think Ewing needs to make a splash this year in the transfer market. Snag 1-2 guys

Maybe we could finally get one from them. And, if this guy could produce, maybe it'd be well worth it.
