We had it figured out pretty well in last year's Big East tourney.

he also said Gtown has been down "other than the final four year" -- what are you talking about?

The day that my love of college hoops was fully resurrected. The Hoyas - led by JTIII - put on an absolute clinic that day, just beautiful to watch.

Ugly game for Dematha -- their guards were badly outplayed. As for Hopkins, he never got the ball. I mean the guards truly refused to get him the ball. One thing I do like about his game is that the few times he did get the ball, he made pretty good passes. Seems to have a good sense for the team concept. I also really like his frame & physical upside. I do wish he had a better motor.

I agree with jester - I think other teams are gameplanning us far better than we are them. Guys are missing shots, but we are not getting great looks. I also agree with chep that the movement is clearly not there. We are completely bogged down.

I know we're not knocking down shots, but it's clear that other Big East coaches have us and our offense pretty well scouted at this point. Seems like they see our sets coming a mile away.
Plus, if you notice, when the other team is on offense they are running the shot clock down and looking to break us down with 10 seconds or less and shorten the game --- ND, SJU, and WV all did this. Pitt also happens to excel at this.
Bottom line is we really need to make some adjustments to keep other teams off balance a bit more.

It's just a mindset right now -- Depaul is attacking and we are playing scared.

Henry played great tonight - on both ends! Looked like a completely different player -- biggest thing is he seems confident and not rushed.

We need to do a much better job of keeping them out of the lane.

Interesting that Trawick is only 5 slots behind Tyrone Johnson, who at the time seemed like a big recruiting miss.

Great news! Excellent job by Kirby et al. Our recruiting class has really rounded into shape -- I like each player individually and they complement each other really well.

I like what I see in that video -- he plays tough and is super athletic. If he has or can develop an outside shot than we might really have something.

more coverage from Eddie Griffin Jabril Trawick (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington Friends School) 2011, SF, 6-5, 200 pounds Maybe "surprise" isn't the right term since he's headed to Georgetown, however, what's happened with Trawick since June is noteworthy. He plays in attack mode, puts his head down and charges the rim with a certain confidence mixed with nastiness that you admire. He's a fringe top 100 prospect who could push his way through if his jumper improves. Bottom line: You want to play with him rather than against him. sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=5699980

Welcome aboard! Wish we knew more about him, but getting a tough, athletic Philly wing can't hurt.

report from AAU play in June...... blog.northstarbball.com/2010/06/16/rumble-in-the-bronx-day-three-rundown.aspxJabril Trawick once again showed his ridiculous athletic ability while at the Rumble in the Bronx. The 6'6 forward needs work on his overall, all-around skill set, specifically his jumpshot, but his hops are amazing. Trawick gets to the hoop, and though he sometimes tries to get too fancy with his dunks, he can be a ferocious finisher. His handle is solid and he has a sturdy frame. If he improves his jumper, Trawick could end up playing at a high-major Division I school. Jabril Trawick ’11, Abington Friends (PA), Playaz: La Salle, Temple, Richmond, Charlotte, George Washington, UMass, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph’s, St. Louis, Xavier, St. John’s, Drexel, Nebraska, Marist, Bowling Green, Iona, Quinnipiac, Texas A&M, Bucknell, Penn, Yale, Penn State, Georgia Tech, and Maryland Offers: La Salle and Drexel Favorite: “A good school I’d like to go to is Xavier. Schools can recruit me, but it doesn’t mean nothing if I don’t have the offer. At the end of the summer I should know [abut offers].” Note- Trawick said of his long school list, “A lot are recently [starting to] recruit me. All of the schools contacted my uncle or my coaches.” Normally running with Team Phenom, Trawick was with the Playaz this weekend. “I still play with Team Phenom, but I’m gonna do some stuff with the Playaz too,” he said.

I was at Kenner for the first time this year and came away very impressed with Hollis Thompson -- competition notwithstanding, his jumper looked great and he shot it with confidence from deep. His height and length enables him to shoot above almost anyone at the college level. He also looked to have put on some weight, and overall seemed more physical and aggressive. He is clearly one of our top 5 players.
Also want to add that Vee Sanford and Markel Starks both looked great this weekend. Our depth at backcourt will be very impressive this year.

I agree that forming a network seems to be the key -- Big East basketball hits all the major markets. Obviously football will need to be tweaked, but frankly I'd add Memphis and try to get BC back.
Get the BC-UCONN rivalry going again; and get Memphis-Lville going. I presume the football schools get better economics in the new network, but if that's what it takes to keep them so be it. I think Memphis would be so happy to get in they would cut a good deal.
The funny thing is that when we signed the new ESPN deal it was hyped as a great deal -- but clearly the real economic power is in having your own network.
