I don't want to get too excited over that, but Meyer is 84% on crystal balls in 2018. That is a pretty high hit rate. A day after Pat was in house? That is pretty huge. Let's hope Meyer knows something. Worth noting Meyer threw in a CB for Frink today going to SC.

Day one contributor. Big time talent. Exactly what we need.
So happy to see Pat went in-home with him. Get him on campus and get the signature!

Whitney seems to me like he should be at the very top of the 2019 Big Board. 247sports.com/Player/Kahlil-Whitney-45572914The coaching staff has seem him play a handful of times and he has visited. Whitney is a big time scoring wing who would step right in 2019. I hope Pat is able to sign Frink and these two can play together. Whitney is dynamic.

Mitchell steps in as a day one starter and go-to scorer. I am pumped about Mac for sure, but let's not discount Blair and Mosely progressing when it comes to next year's backcourt. I think/hope Blair takes a huge step up as a ball-handler and becomes the starter.
A rotation with Blair, Mitchell, Mosely and McClung would be a huge upgrade from this year's group.

This is good to read, better late than never.. wisconsin.rivals.com/news/tai-strickland-official-visitStrickland, who was hosted by freshman guard Brad Davison, has upcoming official visits to Minnesota and Rutgers. He's also hearing from Maryland, Virginia, DePaul, Georgetown and UMass, among others. That's great. Get that young man on campus. Strickland and Frink round out a great first full class. Lay a foundation, find studs for 2019 and beyond.

Glad to see we offered. Looks like a solid athlete with great size. The exact type of player Pat should be able to develop. I don't imagine he'll have much of an impact next year, but that is ok.
I bet Pat was watching the whole time just like I was thinking "damn. wish we were getting Naz Reid....." that man is a PROBLEM.

Securing another guard should be the priority. Maybe, take a grad transfer and a stud transfer who needs to sit out a year. Worry about the frontcourt in ‘19, unless a true stud becomes available. I hear this logic all the time on recruiting boards and I just don't like it. Yes, guard is the priority. No question. That doesn't mean Pat doesn't extend offers and go after promising bigs. Adding a big AND a ball-handler this cycle is still possible. I absolutely think we could use some more depth in the front court in 18 and beyond.

Stewart is going to go to Memphis with Penny Hardaway...
I'm not a huge fan of his game anyway, maybe if he was immediately eligible i would want him, but i think we will get better guys in 2019.

Any of these three from UConn would be huge. Akinjo is absolutely #1 and should get a call from Pat immediately.

If he pays attention to what Ewing did with Govan and Derrickson this season then he should see that Georgetown is a very attractive place for post players. Ewing has already proven that he will push players to be their best and that he will use their strengths relentlessly on offense. I agree. The pitch is great right now to any star big. Gotta keep on him. I hope all of these 2019s take their time and give Pat more time to show progress.

Che Evans, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard from Dulaney (MD) High School, told ZAGSBLOG on Wednesday that Maryland, Villanova, St. John’s, Michigan State, and Georgetown are the five schools recruiting him the hardest. Georgetown: “They are also recruiting me hard. I’ve sat down with the coaching staff for 30 minutes to an hour. I have a great relationship with Georgetown. It’s close to home. It’s not far at all. Coach Patrick [Ewing] is very welcoming. He doesn’t do that for a lot of kids. I go to a lot of their games.” www.zagsblog.com/2018/03/07/2020-che-evans-drawing-high-major-interest/Any idea how many games he has been to? any of the good ones? hopefulkly not Creighton

how about brandon williams again 247Other programs that have reached out recently are Oklahoma, Ohio State and Georgetown. "It is a little overwhelming jumping back in to the recruiting process. My phone is blowing up 24/7 and I'm just trying to hear everyone out." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/brandon-williams-36Same situation as Hagans would have been. Game changing recruit. Immediately makes us a tourney team next year. Would show a TON about Pat's ability to close. Our pitch is simple and should be a great one. I certainly won't hold it against Pat and the staff if they don't get him, but wow this would be a massive win.

There should be other guys we target ahead of Calixte, but no reason not to put a feeler out.
Getting these one year band-aids that supply depth like Trey Dickerson is totally fine with me.

I think the one we are going to regret in the is letting Xavier Johnson get away. I feel like if we had put on the full court press he was ours. He fits exactly what everyone is saying we need either along side McClung or to back him... 100% agree with this. Seems like he was the perfect fit. Could become a terror at Nebraska if he improves his shot.

2 year starter, at Samford..., but still. 2 year D-1 starter. eligible immediately. 11/6 as a freshman 13/10 as a soph. how thin we are up front right now, take all day. we lose 15 and MD after next year at the latest. couldn't hurt to have this young man as depth.

I know highlight tapes make everyone look good, but Johnson sure likes a Big East player to me. Great range, long athlete, solid handles, hit a ton of outside shot, scored in a bunch of different ways. Why has his recruitment been so slow? I could only find this bigshots.net/tariq-johnson-talks-recruiting/ Academics? Off the court issues? Did he just grow a ton physically in one year? What am i missing? Much like DaMonte Dodd (Queen Anne's High) who was at UMd, Tariq went to Kent Island High on the Eastern Shore, 15 mins east of Annapolis. He attended his Junior and Senior yrs. there. Many Eastern Shore kids can get looked over if they are not travelling with a known AAU team; Tariq was with Metro All-Stars before balling with WeR1. Grades weren't an issue with Tariq, it was more lack of exposure and sort of a late bloomer. He prepped in hope to garner more looks, Kansas State, Sienna and a few others came to Kent Island to see him. He and my Daughter (who also plays at Kent Island) both trained with Showcased Frames and I know the young man is a hard worker, I've seen him in the Gym on many Saturdays putting in intense drill work and it has paid off. If he had one issue, it was his motor, some Coaches would tell his trainer Tariq should have had 40pts instead of 25pts some nights. But Mt. Zion has appeared to have figured it out and Tariq has made that jump where his motor appears to be something of the past. The young man is a legit 6'6" and has a College ready body. He's simply a talented scorer. All around good guy, quiet young man that's about his business. Great info. Sounds like the staff should really take a look. How many opportunities are left for the staff to see him?

www.prephoops.com/2017/09/recruiting-report-tariq-johnson-2018/ Seems like a high-floor/high-ceiling kid. Best case scenario, he keeps developing offensively and becomes a big time wing scorer. He has a natural shot and great body. Worst case scenario, he's Keldon Johnson. long rangy athlets, help bring it up, hit it if you're open, guard the wing, get rebounds.

Absolutely top of the board for 18 and 19. This would be a COUP for Big Pat.
