www.jucorecruiting.com/2018top100rankingsCutting all uncommitted PG/CG/SG/G candidates - everyone 50+ is midmajor or lower - if we're recruiting a guard from JUCO it's probably one of these guys : 3 Wendell Mitchell 6'4 Trinity Valley SG 11 Devante Bandoo 6'3 Hutchinson SG 12 Andres Feliz 6'2 Northwest Florida State PG 14 Roderick Williams 6'7 East Los Angeles G/F 17 Isaiah Tisdale 6'2 Vincennes CG 25 Shane Gatling 6'4 Indian Hills SG 29 Jermaine Haley 6'7 Odessa G/F 35 Ricky Torres 6'3 Missouri West Plains CG 38 Tray Boyd III 6'4 Northwest Florida State SG 39 Terrell Brown 6'3 City College of San Francisco SG 40 Brian Warren 5'11 Tyler PG 41 Ke'Sean Davis 6'7 Seward County G/F

With Tre Campbell gone, Trey Dickerson wrapping up his eligibility, Trey Mourning a question mark for next year, and Trae Broadnax yet unsigned...
I think you know who we need.

We need players who score from outside of 10 feet. One lesson we’ve learned from Mulmore and Dickerson is that getting all, or the bulk, of your points from penetration, layups and FTs in JuCo or low Div. 1 does not, or might not, translate to the BE. We cannot risk testing them out during Govan’s and MD’s senior season. Be it JuCo or grad, we need a player who is a proven scorer from the perimeter and who does not pass up an open shot.

Mulmore was JUCO and wasn’t he the highest scoring JUCO player? The huge disparity in competition between Division 1 and JUCO concerns me because it’s hard to get a real sense of how good they are.
I am not wholly opposed to it but generally favor rising seniors from high school, or if available, graduate transfers.

WE need a floor general who can knock down a jump shot when he's open.

I think I would rather have a proven grad transfer than a juco guy. Some juco competition can be questionable, as to why Mulmore avg 24 ppg but cant avg 10 ppg in the big East. I don't think the staff did enough homework on Dickerson. He is quick but he makes tons of questionable decisions with the ball. Out of control usually. With a juco guy your taking a risk on a guy for two yrs. Grad transfers you only making a commitment for a 1 yr rental. Until Ewing gets the program up and running like you want, your gonna need transfers of all shorts.

Unfortunately this seems to be how Mac gets most of his points. At least the efficient ones. He's definitely not afraid to shoot from anywhere and he makes 3's and jumpers but his % is not that good.

If it's the one I heard about them recruiting 99% sure it isn't happening... It's none of those guys and not very important, just the staff leaving no stone unturned...

Not a fan of Juco. Also, Mac will draw a ton of fouls. We passed on Tucker, so we better land someone decent.

He's the focus of the other team's defense, yet he gets his perimeter and mid-range baskets. I'm thinking that next year, until we show some improvement from the perimeter, the other team's gameplan on defense will be swarm Govan and Marcus, and leave Mac and our other guards alone to shoot with maybe a half-ass lunge from the paint as we're seeing now. If Mac can knock down the open 3, we're better than we're now unless Mulmore and/or Jagan start to shoot and make more. I also think Mac's 3FG % will be higher than his career numbers because he has a nice stroke, he will not be the focus of the defense and he's a gym rat. Time will tell...

From his highlights, and Dickerson's, there's a lot of penetration and not much perimeter shooting. I prefer grads because of the 1-yr commitment to fill a need.

We are still on several quality guards for '18, so let's see how things shake out. Also, players free up with coaching changes. It ain't over 'til it's over.

I like looking at JUCOs- good due diligence. There are some players out there at that level still.

Wendell Mitchell should get a look... I believe the previous staff either offered, or showed serious interest in him out of High School.
NC State and Cincinnati offers..
