Will be there to go 37/39. You sell yourself short. Will be 38 of 40. 37th year in the Garden; 3 before it in Providence, f-in’ Syracuse and Hartford (but please don’t ask me what I remember from, oh, yesterday. — other than Hoyas win! Hoyas win! Hoyas win!...). Will only be 35 of 40 for me (but at least I, too, will always have Providence... and Boeheim throwing a chair in ‘84...) And P.S. staying for the whole tournament now, win or lose for Hoyas (and sadly we know what that has meant for, oh, the last decade) is great fun without the upstate trash, UConvicts or Pittsburgers around to pollute the vibe. Great, friendly like-minded fan bases and very competitive games — this year especially on the latter and hopefully including us as part of both. Plus you can take in a Broadway show (not that there’s anything wrong with that...) 37/39 was from last year.

Can somebody recap the seedings for each outcome of the Creighton/De Paul game?

I know it is a pro arena, but I have never seen such a beer friendly environment at a college basketball game. Kudos Marquette. You looked much, much happier on television in this game than the DePaul game, HoyaChris. I don't have a very good in-game poker face. See you Wednesday.

Today’s victory beer is The Fig Lebowski by Solace Brewing Co. It’s an Imperial Stout brewed with figs, vanilla, and lactose. 11% alcohol. I’m not a huge fan but it does have a picture of The Dude on the can so it’s pretty awesome overall. Also, it’s extra cold after a BIG HOYAS WIN. And no corn syrup. I hear that's big in Milwaukee. I know it is a pro arena, but I have never seen such a beer friendly environment at a college basketball game. Kudos Marquette.

I don't know what it looks like on TV, but live it feels like we can't get a call on the glass.

To clarify, the two games were played back to back last year, but for the first time. Maybe it has now been established as the norm.

I have been inspired. I will fly into Chicago for Wednesday's game, work remotely from the hotel on Thursday and Friday and drive up to Milwaukee Saturday morning. It's clear that I miss meaningful games in March. Do they do that every year. Chicago-Milwaukee back to back road games? Unfortunately no.

Allow me to ask the sacrilegious question: Would we be better off NOT making the NCAAs and going to the NIT instead? Would be a huge disappointment for Jessie, who really wants to dance, and would represent a kind of a let down from our ceiling, but there are advantages - getting more home games at a time when the team is just starting to gain traction with local fans again, greater likelihood of advancement and possibly even making the semis/finals at MSG, motivation for the frosh class to improve, etc. I am agnostic on this question myself, just wondering what others think about it. I think our frosh will develop just fine with or without an NIT. The NCAA is all about being relevant. I vote for relevant. And who knows. At our best we just might win a game or two.

At the game, I had a perfect line on Jessie's first shot and thought it was goaltending. Watching on replay I am certain it was. He certainly was not "stuffed." Obviously Jessie had a terrible first 42 minutes, but we can do without the histrionics. I thought the same. My only question was that the ball may have been below the rim, and I don’t know if that changes the rule. That shot was going to be well short IMHO I just rewatched. The ball was definitely above the rim when it was blocked and looked to have a reasonable chance of catching the front rim and leaking into the basket.

I can't get excited about Govan's OT performance for two reasons. One, had he not been awful during regulation we would never have needed an overtime. Worse than the awful shooting was the turnovers. How many times does a center commit 6 turnovers? Oh yeah, then there's his defense, e.g. where was Govan when Seton Hall big was wide open on that one second shot? Two, Govan's heroics began after Nzei fouled out. Without Nzei lurking Govan didn't have to "look over his shoulder" or rush his shot. Govan is a respectable college center as long as he doesn't have to compete against a good college center. PE has done a great job making Govan respectable but I'm betting PE will do much more with Wahad. But Nzei didn't block Govans 1st attempt Quigley, Gill did.. Nzei's one block was on Akinjo... The game should never had made it to a fourth extra period. Otto was very clearly fouled on a drive at the end of the second OT. He made a ball fake that opened up the lane because the Hawks were overplaying his 3 point shot.

The only reason they might keep Mullin is because they can't find anyone better. Disagree, but to jettison Mullin effectively ends the Lapchick-Carnesecca line of St. John's coaches. One can rightly argue they strayed out of the line before (e.g., Jarvis, Lavin), but a new era without any tie to the Carnesecca days would force the program into some unfamiliar territory. Same for Georgetown. It punted on this issue when the track cleared for Ewing's hire, but down the road Georgetown will have to look from outside the Thompson era because the coaching tree isn't there. Jon Wallace?

The snowstorm in ‘10 was EPIC and predicted several days in advance as the Snowpocalypse or for Hoya fans (of Nate Lubbick especially) “Thundersnow”. It also had snowed about 6” the game before against Duke on a Saturday and was a little of an inconvenience but not much — about what we can expect tomorrow. I rented a 4 wheel drive Ford 150 two days before the Villanova game to be sure I could get there from about 8 miles away in Alexandria — and succeeded (lotsa parking in the Verizon Center that day believe me). Where there’s a will there’s a way... A pal’s son, then a student on the Hilltop (son of HoyaChris actually) metro’d from Rosslyn station to the game — with a hoard of other students, and shared the train with none other than Scottie Reynolds and another Villanova teammate. Surrounded by Hoyas, the players tried to make themselves as inconspicuous as possible (wearing their warm ups probably a bad idea), but good natured razzing ensued... The City is gearing up for the snow tomorrow already, and while there will be some of the typical Chicken Little overreactions, there is ZERO chance the league will or should reschedule the game... On the Metro, Scottie Reynolds kept trying to elbow his way through Hoyas and was stunned when the Hoyas were not called for fouls.

I'm sorry, but the omission of Reggie Williams from the t-shirt is criminal.
He was clearly a better college player than Duren, Green, Hibbert, Mutombo and Otto.
I will write Reggie's name onto my t-shirt

I know this is heresy, but the reason that Nova is shooting poorly from 3 is good 3 point defense.

Mac seemed to want to do a 360 or some other dunk, but due to his ankle problems he went with the conventional dunk. He might have thought about a 360 and decided against it. I doubt the concern was his ankle. I suspect it was "Coach will kill me if I try a 360 and miss."
