Your BE 3rd place Hoyas look to solidify their position this Sunday. More of what we saw in the second half tonight please.

This is a great opportunity for the Hoyas. Nova is not expecting this team. GO HOYAS! Beat the Wildcats.

Limit the turnovers again. Maybe get off to a little better start? Obviously a very tough game. But it is winnable. And that says something about where the team and the program are right now.

Physical and mental toughness must be superior to Nova's to have a chance...and I really think the Hoyas can do that. Looking forward to it.

Had the feeling last night that our guys went to the locker room with a “Next” attitude - these are not rest on your laurels guys and they are not afraid of any challenge. Paschall is a decent matchup for Jesse, who can at least force him outside. Focus our D specialists in Booth and the rest of the matchups actually may favor us. Just keep winning

I like to see this game as the first chance to practice winning the BET. A cadence of Xavier - St Johns- Nova could likely be a path.
Playing with House money on this one.

This is a great opportunity for the Hoyas. Nova is not expecting this team. GO HOYAS! Beat the Wildcats. True Hoping they can recognize what's been working and keep doing it, lose the stuff that hasn't. Akinjo and Mac off the dribble works, the JTIII style empty perimeter passing has to go. Would like to see more player movement in the set offense, started to see that in the second half last night when they started running individual guys along the baseline underneath the 1-3-1 defense i.e. Mac and Malinowski etc. Started clearing out the lane for Akinjo also second half

I like the matchup for the Hoyas. Leblanc on Pascal will be key. Who guards Phil Booth?

I like the matchup for the Hoyas. Leblanc on Pascal will be key. Who guards Phil Booth? I would personally give Booth a healthy dose of Kaleb and Jagan. Most likely start off with Pickett.

No need to play tight. Nova has owned us the past 4 years, we are still rebuilding, are heavy underdogs and getting no love from the "experts" so let's go balls to the wall and let Mackinjo loose on them.

This is the biggest game the Hoyas have played since the 2015 loss to Utah. They finally had what I would consider a progress making win against Xavier. That is, taking another step forward instead of 2 steps back like they've tended to do in recent years after wins. There was not only growth in securing the victory, but how we did it (Akinjo stepping up, role players looking like they're starting to settle in their roles, somewhat better execution in the end game which is a credit to both staff and players).
I have to admit it did feel like the wheels were falling off after the Creighton game. For these guys to rally and produce 2 monster wins to climb out of the hole they had dug is huge.
This is without a doubt our toughest game remaining on the schedule, so I'm tempering my expectations. But the opportunity does lie in front of our guys now: steal a win on Sunday and we can start realistically talking about being in the NIT discussion and playing our way towards the bubble. It's been 4 years since we've had a conversation like that.

I like the matchup for the Hoyas. Leblanc on Pascal will be key. Who guards Phil Booth? My question is who does Jessie guard when Paschal plays the 5? Samuels? Jessie guards Bey is my guess? He can comfortably hit 3s but he’s got low usage. Even if Villanova wants to exploit the mismatch and use Pascal in the paint, I think 2s are preferable to 3s from him. Samuels wants to put the ball on the floor and I think he’d get by Jessie every chance he got. I think Pickett guards Samuels so that he can help off and assist Mac and Akinjo with penetration from Booth and Gillespie. I expect Jagan and Kaleb to get a good chunk of minutes in this game strictly because we need their defense.

Yeah, we don't matchup particularly well on defense. Govan can't handle Paschal and I don't think Leblanc is strong enough to keep him from posting up. I could see Mourning being employed to provide some muscle against him. Booth is a tricky matchup for either of our starting guards. I would consider giving Pickett a look, but feel like Mac will start out on him. This game might require a healthy dose of Jagan

Look- with Govan, if his man wants to stand on the perimeter, and successfully drills a bunch of threes, then we likely lose. We need Govan out of foul trouble and causing havoc on THEIR defense when we have the ball.
We need to take away the easy drives and limit the wide-open threes. We will not take away all decent looks from outside. If they shoot lights out, we have little chance. But we need to make that tough on them. We also need to win the foul game and get one or more of their key players in foul trouble.
