This will be big to say the least for St. Johns... If true, will put St. John's right at the top of the conference with Marquette ahead of Villanova and Providence. Possibly a season changing decision...

Good for PC... www.providencejournal.com/sports/20180929/kevin-mcnamara-pc-steps-up-its-game-with-new-basketball-centerThere is a Sleep Room, where your favorite Friar can catch up on his Z’s.
There are two full-length basketball courts, situated side-by-side. One bears the signature of Billy Donovan.
There is a TV studio that allows Ed Cooley interviews to be beamed across the country.
There is a barber shop. Yes, a barber shop.
There is a Float Tank, where 20 minutes of water relaxation supposedly equals four hours of sleep. Word is Tom Brady has one in his house and, hey, if it’s good enough for TB12, it’s good enough for Alpha Diallo.
Welcome to the Ruane Friar Development Center, the long-awaited, $30-million chateau that Cooley and his team are moving into these days. Bathed in natural light, the Friars logo and black-and-white branding at every turn, the Friars finally own the basketball practice facility of their dreams.

I still have to wait and see about Mullins, but it would be huge for the conference if he could finally bring them back.

For a slow, not very agile guy, Mullin wasn't a horrible defender. But that squad is going to RUN. Should be fun to watch if they have any offensive plan at all other than just iso ball.

Talent wise this is a huge get for DePaul. Along with their sneakygood pickup of tough minded guard Oscar Lopez out of Southern Cal, Leitao is absolutey improving DePaul's roster...

So does this mean the board needs to do away with the “poor performance and playing in near-empty arenas means you can’t recruit top talent” and “top kids all want to go to the tournament”, etc. excuses? Or does DePaul just have a bagman? Sheesh.

Pickett has to make this list ahead of Gillespie & Blaylock imo..
9. Collin Gillespie | Villanova 2017-18 stats: 4.3 ppg, 14.4 minutes per game, 1.1 apg
Jahvon Quinerly, Eric Paschall and Phil Booth are going to get plenty of pub, but rising sophomore Collin Gillespie should be getting a mention as an impact player for the reigning NCAA champs, too. He shot 39.4 percent from the 3-point line as a freshman in a limited run and has a chance to break into the starting rotation in his second season.
15. Mitch Ballock | Creighton 2017-18 stats: 7.3 ppg, 21.4 minutes per game, 2.9 rpg
Marcus Foster? Gone. Khyri Thomas? Gone. Toby Hegner? Gone. There's opportunity galore for any number of Bluejays players to break out this season, but I'm looking at Mitch Ballock, a rising sophomore, as the one who is slated to make the biggest leap. As a freshman last season, Ballock served as a reliable shot-maker and solid rebounder. Those qualities should earn him more run as a sophomore, and if he can improve as a playmaker the chance for a starturn may be imminent for him in Omaha.
