To those who know more than I.
I had always thought that players can only declare for the draft twice. By that I mean, a player can declare and withdraw his name only once. For Ponds that means either hiring an agent, going all in, or staying in school and waiting for next year’s draft. He can no longer “test.” It’s a quibble with the above posted but it reads to me as if his father was merely stating the options that he has. Is this correct?
I agree with others that he probably won’t gain much from the year. His departure might actually help St John’s in the sense that it seemed his teammates waited for him to explode and watched him.

I'm not certain this answers your question but I do not see a numerical limit in these rules for the number of times a college basketball player may declare for the draft. www.ncaa.org/about/flexibility-going-pro-and-getting-degree

Another example highlighting how the RS process is a win/win especially for the player...

I'm also not too sure, but I had thought it was twice in the sense that you can leave then return twice then the third time, you have to sign an agent.
