As someone who has been hard on Chris, to say he has no heart is simply the musings of some schmuck who needs a cheesesteak stuck down his gullet. Who knows how the UConn game turns out without CW refusing to go down at the end of the 1st half.
The kid comes to play, and lately, he's been somewhere between good to stellar.

Sounds like the only system Nikita didn't like was the rotation...

Key on Robinson. He's the type of guy who typically gives us a world of trouble since he can blow up for 25 and 15 off of garbage points. Body him up, keep his ability to generate second-chance points limited and the rest will take care of itself.

I liked: - Holding an opponent under 40% FG - Wright's 7 assists - Greg's 66% FG
I Didn't like: -MU shooting almost 50% from 3 -Greg only taking 6 shots
Those were my big data points. What seemed to be a positive to me was that no one offensively forced anything. Greg took what he could, which wasn't much, and didn't jack up shots or turn it over. Ditto with CW.
Perimeter defense needs some work since we will play more games against teams that will run a perimeter offense. With the new 3-point line, if you got guys who can knock down those shots, it can effectively spread a defense over the course of the game. Granted, MU didn't take advantage of it, but plenty of other teams will (SU, Nova). Other than that, I can't complain too much. We lost to a pretty good team that shot the lights out. You go back to practice, work on matching up that 40% from the field with the deep-ball and we'll win more than our share.

Besides the usual, I really want to see how JV follows up his UW performance. Without reading too much into it or putting too much pressure on, his emergence will play a big role in determining whether we are one of the top-4 teams in this conference. His effect of freeing up Greg was huge, and really changed the dynamic of our offense.
I'm confident we'll keep doing what we've been doing, but if JV is going to be UW-JV this season, then I'd like to see something resembling a repeat performance of 12 and 7.

Alternatively, you could try and see if there any of the Amtrak 5-game weekend packages left. 5 games (UConn, 'Nova, ND, Duke and Cincy) for $125 total. The 'Nova, UConn and ND games should at least net face on here or elsewhere, so you'd really only be eating the cost of the Cincy game, but you'd have tickets.

We're better than them. Nothing would say that more than just giving Gary what he wants and slapping the Twerps around on their home floor. Give them the gate in exchange for a fair allotment of seats (25%+) and then just maul them for 40 minutes. Honestly, this has nothing to do with money and we all know that. So, give them what they want and just get the game done. Then talk BB&T or home and home.
I'm very much with the 'Screw Maryland' sentiment, but really the only losers in all of this are the fans. This is a natural game to be played every year with the potential to simply be good for college hoops. My best guess is that over a ten-year span, the win-loss would probably be 6-4 with a few great games. Ideally, I think a home and home actually benefits both teams by providing an early season conference rivalry atmosphere without the negatives of a conference loss. Assuming these teams stay in their respective stations in the college hoops world, neither team is ever going to get bit in the ass come March for having lost. The exposure for both programs would be huge as well as this would end up being a nationally-televised game every year.
To me, this conversation feels futile, but it shouldn't be. JT3 and Williams need to just bury the hatchet, and I see no better way to do that then for US to be the ones who extend the olive branch. Let US be the class program that we are and say, "What do you want to get this going?" Let Feinstein and his apologist bigots try and twist that around.

Watching us pound the ball inside for 20 straight minutes in the 2nd half was the most welcome thing I've seen from JT3 in a long time.

Not much else to say except if we can play inside like that offensively and punish teams defensively, the sky is the limit.
YAY!!!! WE WON THE TROPHY FOR SOME REASON!!!!!

JV has presence down there today. He's not just down there, he's making himself huge on the block. Just watch him get position and create space. No clue where it's been hiding, but boy do I like it.
And, the Huskies finally get to within 12, their closest margin since 9 minutes ago when JV went all Hoya Paranoia on 'em. Love it.

Illegal screen on JV? Horrible call. Garbage. He bumped him. And I think he did it on purpose because he was smiling about it after. I'm assuming he wanted to rattle Thomas a bit after that spin move and the yelling and screaming. And I have no problem with it. We need someone with a little bit off edge out there for a change. Put 'em on their a$$es Jules!
