A win in this one would be HUGE for confidence heading into two tricky games, and then the Big East.

I'll unveil to the board the same secret I did tonight at Cafe 31:
Huskies can't shoot. We'll win.

Isiah Thomas is the quickest guard we will have seen to date. This is going to be a tough test far from home with very little fan attendance. If we keep crashing the boards like we did last night, I like our chances!

QP is an undersized 4 that loves to bang. Not much of an outside threat. Hoyas recruited Bryan-Amaning briefly.

Julian will be our best defender for QP if he stays in position. He's too big for Austin, and he's quick/experienced enough in the post to eat Sims up. He also has a decent jump shot with range to 15 feet.

Basically, this game is the opposite of the Butler game. Washington is kind of at the opposite end of the athleticism/discipline and skill continuum.
It will interesting to see if we perform as well when we just aren't simply bigger, faster and stronger than our opponent.

I agree 100% with what GiGa said ..I. Thomas is indeed very fast but tends to shoot the Huskies outta games and forces the issue .. QP is a workhorse but will not match-up well with our size down low -B Amaning dissappears for long stetches and the frosh guard still hasn't come around yet. I was not impressed with the Huskies at all - it should be a physical game and a huge test for the Hoyas playing on the West coast. I feel very confident that we'll leave Washington with the W .. we must take better care of the ball and continue to rebound well ... also .. Greg should be able to have his way down low and needs to finish stronger - our guards will also start to see more open looks with teams sagging down on Greg which is his strong point (finding the open man on the kick out) we just need to hit those shots..
GIGA ... great seeing you and the fellas last night at CAFE31 - I didn't make it on time for the Pre-game gathering . I got to the Garden right at the tip-off ... over-all had a great time and it felt good leaving with a W ... shout to Destroya - SirSaxa - Forrest and dTrain .. long season ahead of us ... 1 game at a time.

More worried about ODU then UW. Hoyas by 10 with a workman like effort.

in the one game i saw of washington, they were way overaggressive in attacking the passing lanes. if they keep that up, i expect/hope/demand at least five good backdoor cuts.

I'll unveil to the board the same secret I did tonight at Cafe 31: Huskies can't shoot. We'll win. Agree. Pomeroy's ratings would seem to back GIGA up as well -- the Huskies are rated 27th overall, but that's mainly based on Washington's ability to force steals and grab offensive rebounds. U-Dub is 187th in the nation in offensive eFG%, and 156th in the nation in defensive eFG%. IMO, the only way we lose this game is if we give up too many fast-break points on turnovers. kenpom.com/team.php?team=Washington

Well we showed last night that we cna give up a ton of turnovers and still beat a bad shooting team. I like our chances.

Apparently, listening to lots of grunge and being somewhere where it rains every day DOES depress you.

Exactly, I really hope we've gotten back to being able to win while making some mistakes. Butler plays slow, has less athletic players that GU, and did not run the fast break well. I don't have the stats, but I'd guess the Bulldogs did a poor job of turning our turnovers into points. Washington, on the other hand, is going to get down the floor quickly and exploit mismatches when the Hoyas give up the ball. We should win this game, but it's going to be really close if we commit 20+ turnovers again.
