Last year I sold my tix on stub hub for a game like Georgetown said I should and ended up selling them to fans West Virginia fans. I was mad, I didn't want to sell them to the guy but I was obligated.

I don't follow recruiting all that closely but is it possible based on Monroe & his families personality none of the schools are doing negative recruiting about each other but just instead selling there program and opportunity.
I know if I was a recruit and I liked schools x, y, and z. And school X kept telling me how bad stuff was at school Y i'd be turned off to school X.
I don't know about Monroe just speculating.

Yeah I totally agree. We have so many top players interested in us why roll the dice on a kid with this many issues surrounding his recruitment.

WB,
How can you call hifigator a no-talent azzclown?
He has to be the most annoying long-winded poster I have ever seen on a message board. That is talent. You think just anyone could join a message board for a team they didn't like AND annoy all the posters for over a year just because they had no life? Give the man some credit.

I say we go 14-4 in Big East play:
Split with L'Ville, split with Pitt, split with Cuse, then drop one other game along the way, maybe Nova at home.

It does really Edited me off when someone says a black is well spoken or articulate.
But at the same time I wonder why more of these teams aren't hiring speaking coaches so these young men don't sound so uneducated.
My uncle played Final Four ball at DePaul and Coach Myers sent my uncle to speak to the press a lot because he was one of the few people on the team that didn't sound stupid the minute he opened his mouth.
No one is expecting these guys to speak prose but people also shouldn't cringe when they hear an athlete attempt to use the English language.

Don't forget about Macklin, I think he's got a better chance of starting over Freeman.

You can get a verbal but you better be sure that spot is going to be open because if its not, it makes you look really bad. Also teams will still try and talk to players after they have verballed but before they sign the LOI so if its not clear where that open scholarship is coming from they will us that to convince the kid to verbal somewhere else.
I would assume if the staff was going to do that it would need be to understood to both the kids on the team currently and the kid coming in where that scholarship was coming from. That way kids don't think they are going to be run off the team, and the kid getting the scholarship knows the scholarship offer is legit and not a stalling tactic.

chuck, sorry to ruin your day but I got that from Katz's blog yesterday: Milwaukee is peeved over the way Yi Jianlian has been handled during the draft process. The Bucks legitimately want to take him if Mike Conley Jr. or Al Horford is off the board at No. 6 (which is a strong possibility). Yet, Yin's representative Dan Fegan didn't invite the Bucks to watch Yi work out in Los Angeles. The Bucks would have given Yi the chance to compete with Charlie Villanueva for starter minutes. Yet a source close to the Bucks said they were told by Yin's representation that Yi only would play in a major city with a significant Asian population. That last comment made no sense to the Bucks when they saw that Phoenix, which as of Monday didn't have a pick until No. 24 in the first round, was invited to watch Yi work out Monday. Meanwhile, if the choices for the Bucks are North Carolina's Brandan Wright or Georgetown's Jeff Green at No. 6, the Bucks may revisit at least two of the three trade offers that came their way recently, according to a source. One of the offers was from Philadelphia. The Sixers offered their two first-round picks (Nos. 12 and 21) for Milwaukee's No. 6 (so the Sixers could take Green). Another offer was with Portland, which desired No. 6 and Dan Gadzuric (and maybe someone else for money purposes) for Jarrett Jack and Joel Przybilla. The third trade that came to the Bucks was with Phoenix, which had offered up Shawn Marion to pry away No. 6, among many other Bucks' assets. But the Bucks dismissed that offer since Marion can opt out after next season. And even if Marion did show, most of the Bucks' money would be tied up with Marion and Michael Redd, diminishing the Bucks' production. insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=katz_andy

I think he is going to go 5,6 or 7 and end up either a Celtic, Sun or a Sixer.

If I remember correctly, Sweetney was part of like 10 rookies who marketed a 1 shoe for a season and it seemed to me the only reason he got picked was because he was drafted by a huge market, because all of the other guys were more household names.

I think that Jeff coming out in this hot class especially with Oden and Durant lowers his ability to get attention that helps in signing endorsement deals etc Endorsement deals? I think your getting a little bit head of yourself. You have to be one of the best players in the world to get endorsement deals and have a marketable (love attention) personality. I'm not sure Jeff meets either of those qualifications.

I think one good thing about this is it forces some of our non seniors to step up because come next April Roy, Jon, Tyler, and Patrick will have played their last games as Hoyas, adding Jeff to that list would have certainly made JT3 rebuilding year that much tougher.

Hey maybe next year the team that Jeff goes to will be really bad and have a high lottery pick and take Roy. And they will have two second round draft picks, and take Jwall and Ewing Jr. Then Tyler Crawford will get an invite to play with them. It will be the Hoyas Part II and then next year they will take sapp, and that team will win a NBA championship!! If Roy & Jeff end up on the same NBA team, I might actually be forced to get NBA League Pass and watch this team all season!

Dan,
Yeah I get paid to work during the day, but I realized a while ago, I also get paid to look like I'm working during the day, and its the same pay!!
I wonder if Jeff understands how much lost productivity he has caused me and I'm sure other people since the middle of April?
BTW thanks for your work on the site, and updating the scholarship table!
