Jahlil is going to have to takeover for Whitney Young. They have had a ton of injuries. Jordan Smith, Jermaine Morgan (Colorado State) and Tommy Hamilton jr (top 30 jr class, knee injury) were all out against Simeon. Also watch for Paul White on Whitney Young (top 25 in 2014 class). He's a 6 ft 8 forward but with Smith out, he has been bringing the ball up and has been jump starting their offense from a point forward slot. I like him alot and he would be a nice fit for the Hoyas.

I have only seen Dakari Johnson in a few video clips so i can't really compare him to Okafor. The easy answer would be to say take whoever wanted to commit. Okafor is an instant double double guy in college. Heck, if he played today he would help alot of college programs.
Hoyaatheart, he is a distant cousin of Emeka.

Absolute beast! Pitino and Calipari in Chicago to watch Jabari Parker and Simeon take on Okafor and Whitney Young. Simeon wins a close battle. Okafor got in foul trouble but he pretty much had his way when he was in there. Kid gets better and better every time i see him. If i had to pick between Okafor and Parker, i take Okafor hands down (for Hoya purposes). Great hands, high basketball IQ, soft touch and attacks the basket. Plays well beyond his years. Still can't believe he is only a sophmore.

If we go 9-9, we're not making the tournament. Our OOC schedule isn't nearly as strong as past seasons and our in conference schedule is much weaker too. Right now we have a rpi of 67 and we have 9 Big East games where our opponent has a rpi greater than 100 and 3 of those are greater than 250 (St John's twice - 267 and Rutgers - 275). Right now we only have 1 top 50 rpi win (Alabama 22) and 1 other top 100 win (Memphis 75). We only have 7 games scheduled with top 50 rpi teams. Last season we played a total of 18 regular season top 50 rpi games and nobody with a rpi greater than 250. This season, as it stands, we will have 6 plus 250 rpi games.

Nevada, great story. Ahmed is tall too but a little more built than his dad. He should be very very good for the Hoyas. On another note, a poster on letsrun says Darren Fahy committed to the Hoyas. He's the California State Champ and the Footlocker Regional West Champion. He was undefeated on the year until having an off race at Footlocker Nationals. He was expected to finish top 5 but ended up 17th. Still, he had a phenomenal year and if his commitment is true, the Hoyas got their 2nd high elite recruit. I tried to find some independent confirmation and found that he was down to Georgetown and Stanford as of last week.

Haley ran a great race as did Sarah Baxter, the super soph from California. Haley tried to close the gap but Sarah just kept on grinding away and got the win. Still, a really good effort by Haley. Samantha Nadel, also a Georgetown commit, led for the first 2/3 of the race before the lead pack caught her and she ended up finishing 10th. She was 11th last season at Nike Nationals and also won the girls' mile at Milrose. So she's another elite recruit.
Men's recruit Ahmed Bile finished second at the Footlocker South Regional. At the national race Ahmed finished 12th. Slightly off race for him since he was expected to contend for a top 5 spot.

It's too bad the women's soccer team got left out in the cold by the NCAA. They could have done some serious damage in the tournament.

RDF, good point on the enthusiasm from the bench. I noticed that too. Trawick and especially Hopkins are really really into the game. Hopkins was like that for the Memphis game too.

Tas, disagree about Mason Plumlee. I would take him in a heartbeat. Kid is athletic, can rebound and can block shots. Duke can keep the other two.

Yup. Bad decision by Jason there at the end of the half. Hold it for the last shot.

And just throwing it out there. Abbey was injured her freshman cross country season and she goes to Dartmouth. And Nevada, you know the ivies policy on redshirts. Still a few years away but you never know.

Nevada, awesome 2-5 pack running. I was watching on Flotrack and Emily was easy to find since she was always near the front of the pack but i didn't see any other Hoya for most of the race. When they panned to the finish line i saw some 40 runners go by after Emily and i said to myself "oh no" and then suddenly it was Georgetown Georgetown Georgetown Georgetown with a couple of Villanova runners mixed in between them (and former Hoya Jillian King). All of them bunched together. Great team effort.
Oh, and i do feel bad, well not really, for the Washington girls. They truly believed they won and they were jumping up and down right next to the Nova girls who were all quiet.
