A preview in The Hoya: www.thehoya.com/sports/cross-country-georgetown-favored-for-national-title-1.2706222If the men finish in the top 20, I would consider that a success. Anything higher is gravy. The men run don't have one dominant runner, but run together as a pack. If they can work themselves up during the race, they will do well. The women are looking at something higher. They were 4th last year, which garnered them a podium place, in addition to Emily Infeld's 2nd place finish. There are four or five teams that can contend for the win, including the Hoyas. Again, Florida State is the favorite. They are sneaky, going out conservatively, but coming on strong at the end. May not have an individual in the top 5-10, but they run pretty well together as a pack. They dominated their region and conference.

The men's race tomorrow starts at 9:08, while the women start at 9:58. Men are running over 10K, while the women will run 6K. Good luck both men's and women's teams.

Wisconsin, OK ST, and Colorado were 1,2, and 3 in the men's race. Still trying to figure out the total team score. Women about to start.

The men finished 17th, so they maintained their position over the last 2K. Good performance for the men.

Congrats to the men, and especially to the women, on excellent finishes to the XC season!
When is the last time one of our NCAA (e.g., not sailing, though their performances have also been outstanding) teams won a national championship?

With all the injuries that the women have had, it's simply amazing that still took home the trophy. We needed one of the freshman to really step up and Katrina put forth a really good effort. 67th overall and 2nd highest freshman finish in the country behind Waverly Neer of Columbia. The Top 4 teams were all so close but Georgetown won cause they had the best 5th runner.
