Problem of Dog has a history of bashing DMV prospects, and bashing fellow posters who tend to think these prospects are worthy of Georgetown's attention. His commentary on Kris Jenkins, for instance:
"Doesn't have a position. Too small to be a 4, too slow to guard 3s."
"You must be a Gonzaga guy. Sorry but he's a no go. Undersized guys who shoot it well for their position are a dime a dozen. Not quick enough to play the 3 in the Big East."
Has been doing this for years now, and is consistently wrong.
Getting a kid like Quincy Allen who is an unfinished product (hence, we may not get in a recruiting war with UNC), is incredibly talented, and is local is exactly what we need to be doing. Hate to point this out about a particular poster who is a fellow fan, but seeing POD continually bashing local prospects like he is the exclusive DMV expert is incredibly frustrating.

If Ewing stays for next game, should get a chance to see Murray live.

Don’t mean to rumor monger but...Malcolm Wilson not warming up with the team and I didn’t see him on bench during St. John’s game? Anything up?

I watched UVA dominate all year playing a three guard lineup of Jerome, Guy and Hall. I think a class of Akinjo, Johnson and McClung would be awesome.

Keith Stevens hate is absurd. Has done a lot for a lot of kids in the area. POD once again spouting off to try to sound like an expert.

Capel won a lot of games at VCU and Oklahoma.
Tiny Gallon issues were bad but there is a reason he is Coach K's #2.
One man's opinion.

Surprised I haven't seen more talk of Jeff Capel. Checks a lot of boxes.

Think Jagan will be the best defender. He is a terrific athlete, has an unbelievable frame for a freshman, and plays hard. Much better defender than Campbell. That said, his handle needs a lot of work to be able to play the point guard position at the Big East level. I can't imagine him as a primary ballhandler for anything more than spot minutes this year. And while the form on his jumper is much better than Mulmore's, his shot needs a lot of work.
I will say this for Mulmore. He has some dog in him that we missed with Trawick leaving. He has the kind of contagious energy and competitive spirit that I personally like to see in a point guard.

I caught several Kenner games this summer. Pryor is the real deal. Reminds me of young Cuttino Mobley. Would be surprised if he isn't First Team All Big East.
I am less enthusiastic about Mulmore. His jumper is broken and a lot of his finishes were of the "Chris Wright" variety (i.e., work better in Kenner than in real games). Turnover prone. I don't see a lot of daylight between Mulmore, Tre, and Jagan.
I also don't see us playing much faster than in years past because I think our point guard play is going to be mediocre, and I think we are going to be giving a lot of minutes to plodding, relatively unathletic bigs (Hayes, Derrickson, Govan, maybe Agau and White).
For all this talk about 10 man lineups, I'd be surprised and frankly upset if Pryor and Peak didn't play 35 minutes a game. I see a starting lineup of Mulmore, Peak, Pryor, Derrickson and Hayes. Copeland and Govan getting the bulk of the back-up minutes at the four and five. I am hoping that Mulmore does enough to take hold of the starting point guard role, leaving spot minutes for Tre and/or Jagan.

Great hire, if true. DC guy, Gonzaga guy. Lot of charisma.

Of the six guards listed (Pryor, Mulmore, Peak, Campbell, Mosely, Johnson) - none are true point guards.
Moore is a true point guard. If he's at all interested, we should pursue.

With Pastner moving on, really hope Georgetown reaches out to Charlie Moore. This kid can play.

A couple of quick responses:
1.) I know Bentil played HS ball in Delaware. I never said he was from the DMV. I said he was in our backyard, some might deem Delaware out of our backyard - fine. That said, amongst the AAU community in the DMV, it was known Bentil was a Hoya if Georgetown wanted him. Same with Hart. Can't go that far with Trimble, because Terps made him a priority before we did, despite the fact that we had a head start.
2.) I'm not guessing here. Ask blueandgray, Hoya Ron, and others who would know. These three would be Hoyas if the staff had wanted them.
3.) I never said that Georgetown prioritized Tre over Romelo. Tre was the guard Georgetown took in a class where we could and should have had Romelo.
4.) There is an argument to be made that White and Cameron looked like superior offensive prospects coming out of high school to Bentil and Hart. This is my point -- the guys that get paid to make the call on who will ultimately be better, one who gets paid over $2 million, look to have made the wrong call three times. As a diehard, lifelong Hoya fan and someone who is relatively plugged in on local hoops, who hears s&^# daily about how our staff has committed malpractice on the recruiting front in recent years - I find that very, very frustrating.
