Scientists have estimated that the energy given off during the Big Bang is roughly equal to one GMD (Greg Monroe Dunk)

The Big 5 is simply not what it used to be. Back in it's heyday,( the fifties and sixties) it was great. All of the teams took turns being ranked in the top 20 and playing each other really meant something. When you add that to the fact that 4 of the 5 schools,(LaSalle, St Joes, Temple and Villanova) were all commuter schools drawing on the local high schools for students it made for an intense rivalry. This rivalry was handed down from father to son and it all added up to a lot of fun. Times have changed and the Big East is as much responsible for it as the changes in the schools student bodies. Villanova doesn't have as many Philadelphia students and very rarely recruits Philly players. Other than local students that attend Villanova, most Villanova studnets don't care who wins the big five. Students from the other big 5 schools hate Villanova and love to beat them, but that is about it. And as far a playing Maryland every year ---who cares.

College hoops 2k8 is great on the ps3. With the 2k share feature, we were able to download all of the hoya players. People have also made the rosters for the "best of" teams so that I could play the 08 hoyas against the some other hoya teams. I also liked the best of the big east against the best of the hoya teams. Pat eats up Roy every time. As for 2009 season, I'm not sure that anyone will be able to put together a roster for the 09 teams as MChoya amd I hope. It is my belief that although the game does not have the name of the player originally on the shirt, that they do have the proper stats for the player with the proper number, so that when someone puts together a roster all they have to do is match the names to the numbers. 2K8 was set up for this. Not sure what will happen for the 2k9 if in fact there is one.

As the screen name indicates, don't get to home games much. How long have we had real live bulldog?? It's been since my time (late 80's). I attended Georgetown in the 60's so my recollection is always a bit fuzzy but I recall my freshmen class(1967) had to buy a new bulldog because Fordham students stole the bulldog that had been there since the early 60's. I remember something about Georgetown students stealing the Fordham ram and dyeing it pink. ( I think we gave it back) Don't really know how much of the story is true, but I know we did have a live Bull dog while I was there.

Jim Barry
I just needed to throw in an old-timer. During his second season he averaged 19 points a game shooting 63 percent from the field. And he didn't miss foul shots. Some say he was better than his brother until his knees gave out.

"No. 3 Wisconsin (31-4) vs. No. 10 Davidson (28-6) I'd like to believe the Davidson Wildcats have a little more of that George Mason magic left in 'em, but there is a cold reality staring them in the face right now: They're playing Wisconsin, not Georgetown." Seth is correct again-- that's why Davidson beat Wisconsin by 17!

Thought this all sounded familiar so I went back to 2007 after the Syracuse game and copied a few quotes from last year. We went on a nice run after getting totally killed by Syracuse last year.
Here are some of last year's comments.
"I can't watch anymore. Click."
"We played a terrible game - not one single Hoya even brought their B game. The fact that it is against 'Cuse breaks my heart. But let it go."
"the team is lifeless. no emotion, playing very lazy. i don't understand how they can't be up for this game"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Not playing smart ball right now. Taking bad shots, and making horrible decisions. We will need a definite shift in momentum to get out of the Carrier Dome with a win tonight."
"Ghastly, wretched stuff. The Orange were very, very good tonight. Big credit, they did a lot of stuff well. Smothering D and some really clutch shots. But we stank up the joint. Yes, their D was terrific"
"As for the sloppy turnovers--that has to be shored up or this fun ride will end soon--no excuse for sloppy turnovers, not knowing how much time is left on shotclock, and just being weak with ball--that has no timetable, no age limit, etc...you either are STRONG WITH THE FREAKING BALL or you are not--and everyone was weak with the damn ball tonight--letting guys slap ball out of their hands, deflections, half assed passes, and just lazy ball handling/passing. No excuses. Cuse OWNED us tonight. "
"all I have to say is this; the team has been hyped up too much. Are we good, yeah. Are we the best, no way... and I think the media (especially ESPN) has done their part in making this team to be way more than it is."
