Long Island QB Makes Decision After months of fielding calls from coaches and after taking several visits, Long Island (N.Y.) St. Anthony's quarterback James Brady has made his college decision. Where will the 6-foot-1, 213-pound quarterback be playing next year? Brady committed to Georgetown after receiving offers from Army, New Hampshire and Lafayette. This past fall Brady completed 58-percent of his passes for 1,500 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 686 yards and eight scores. "I actually just committed to Georgetown," Brady said. "I had offers from Army, New Hampshire, Lafayette and Georgetown, and I just felt most comfortable at Georgetown. "Just the whole atmosphere (was good). I took visits to every school and felt most comfortable there. I like the situation at quarterback. I can compete for a job early in my career." Georgetown has struggled recently but that didn't deter Brady. "Their program's struggling but I see that as a challenge," he said. "I can help build the program up a little bit. I like the combination of academics and athletics." He also believes the offense the Hoyas run will suit his skill set. "Just being able to run their offense will be good. It's similar to what I ran in high school. It's from the shotgun and there a lot of the same principles, a lot of the same reads. I can run the whole offense."

That wasn't what bothered me. The whole "we do this in high school" was the sad part. That said, welcome to Georgetown and hope you do get to change the situation a bit.

I hope we can also beat out the above mentioned schools for quality linemen too.

Never seen him play, but I know St. Anthony's is a great program and this looks to be a really big get.
I know we had a very bad season last year, but I think there continues to be some positives in recruiting.

This is obviously Tom's more-talented brother. Oh, I'm wrong?

Here's a youtube highlight reel for Brady. Pretty impressive stuff:
Also, there's a somewhat disturbing "Message to James Brady" in the "related videos" column to the right of the video posted by two stalker-ish teenage girls. Jeez, are we getting a quarterback AND a new campus heart-throb? Good for you, James, good for you.

I am glad that he can throw downfield but didn't we rarely throw downfield this past year?

Kid catches the long ball well, blocks down field nicely, and would arrive already in synch with the new QB. Good to see that he can run the option, however. Welcome James, and here's to a prosperous career on the Hilltop!

Wow...we're back on Long Island! Ahhh, the Friars of the past come to mind...Brett Diamond, Steve Duggan, Jim Pilkington, Rob Reidel, Liam Grubb. Am I missing anyone?

This isn't the QB they covet most. My understanding is that they recently got a commit from another 6'3 guy from the NE area but neither is he their top QB "wish list" guy. The guy they covet most has visited but hasn't made up his mind yet.
