A bit early for potential post-season nicknames for the kid (no pressure!), but should he have success in the NCAAs: Otto Von Bis-MARCH!

The Ohio loss should stand alone as embarassing. Maybe the way the Davidson loss happened was embarrassing but that was another team that was good enough to win if you didn't put them away. VCU is making a FF type run. Davidson almost did. Ohio looked like your run-of-the-mill upset specials that was never going to compete in the R32. Very well put KG.

At 10:54 left in the second half they finally call a foul on VCU pushing Vaughn under the basket... only it didn't really look like a foul. Inconsequential foul calls to "catch" VCU up in foul count when it doesn't really cost them anything.

Tarik's article: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/03/12/AR2011031204979.html"What it means relative to our performance as of late, what it means relative to our seeding, I'll let the selection committee sift through that," [JT3] said. "But there's no doubt that we are a better/different team when Chris Wright is in the lineup, and he's going to be in the lineup for the NCAA tournament." Great news indeed - Let's go Hoyas!

When you say there were a ton of Orange fans, was it lots of pockets, or whole sections?
Agree as well that the Orange contingent didn't seem as loud, but perhaps that's because there were more Hoya fans to help offset.

GU-Cuse AP Pre-game articlerivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ap-t25-georgetown-nowrightA few quotes of interest: Thompson was not willing to show his cards just yet, saying only that “we’ll figure that out today” when asked who will start in his place.
...
“Everyone has to be good tomorrow,” Thompson said. “We aren’t looking at this as we’re going to need person ‘X’ to replace Chris Wright. Everyone, top to bottom, head to toe, has to be a little bit better and do what they’ve been doing a little bit better for a little bit longer.”
...
CW4: “If they trust their instincts and go out and execute and don’t worry about the atmosphere, just play in the game, I think they’ll be fine.”

Why can't JTIII?
When ND lost Harangody to injury for an extended period of time last season, Brey had his team adapt to the new circumstances employing a much more methodical offensive scheme with renewed emphasis on the defensive end, which helped ND with a somewhat improbable late season surge (mostly without Harangody) to a NCAA bid which was very much in question even prior to Gody's injury.
Now, obviously the situation with Chris Wright being out is even more sensitive for the Hoyas given how much he has been involved in touching the ball on offense (particularly with regard to bringing the ball up against pressure), but that is the challenge for JTIII to figure out - how best to leverage Chris' teammates (from seniors on down to freshmen) to put the team in a position to win.
Difficult, yes (particularly thinking about senior day in less than 2.5 days), but something I think we all believe Coach and his staff can do over the next week or two.
Good luck to the coaching staff and the players and best wishes to Chris on a speedy (if not miraculous) recovery!
Hoya Saxa!
