CW SHOULD NOT RETURN...let the hand heal and look ahead to next year...perhaps in Europe.
This season is kaput...as, most likely, will be the next two.
Have you ever seen so disheveled a program...and then the AD wants $ for the practice center?
If you were AD--sentimentality aside--what would you do?

The AD should bust his tail to raise money for the practice facility that the program has needed for years. In so doing he should focus on the excellent coaching staff and outlook for the future. When people like you make comments like that to his face, he should laugh out loud and tell you that you certainly have a lot of choices about what to do with your money, and if that is the way you feel, do not worry about donating anything to the practice facility.

Pitiful, how for the last three years the board has bashed CW, now when it's crunch time, everyone wants him back.

Anyone who has bashed Wright has not been watching him play. He has been an excellent part of the program and he deserves our full support.

GUJook97: I assume that's what he meant - your guess is as good as anyone else's. I'm sure it will be asked and answered again by tomorrow.

look. i want c wight back as much as anyone. maybe though, it would serve him better to sit it out and not risk further injury. if that happens, we are 1 and done in both tourneys. bottome line. no chance at anything
if he comes back with a splint or whatever on his hand, how effective will he really be? will he be able to dribble with both hands and break the press as usual. also, what happens when he gets hit on that hand for the 1st time
all i know is i want him back bad, but i also understand if he shuts it down
GET WELL SOON CHRIS!
GO HOYAS!

Yeah, i think i remember it being that time frame, but I am sure they are being intentionally opaque.
I am not sure I want him to play in the BET if the extra week could help him heal. But, there is no way he is not going to play again this season. It's not like he is taking years off of his life by playing on a semi-healed middle finger bone. Come on.

We have all complained about the lack of facilities for years - now it looks like it's finally time to put our money where are mouths are - open the wallets or forever hold your peace.

"This season is kaput...as, most likely, will be the next two. A bye in the Big East tournament and decent seed in the NCAA's. Hardly Kaput. Have some faith, or at least a modicum of hope. Recruits coming in sound tantilizing. Why so forlorn?
"Have you ever seen so disheveled a program?" See 2 Big East regular season titles. See one Big East championship. See one Final Four appearance. See Esherick.
"If you were AD--sentimentality aside--what would you do?" I'd still raise money for a practice facility, continue to attract great recruits, win a national championship, and send you a free ticket to a Tony Robbins "Power of Positive Thinking" seminar.

With regard to chris coming back and risking further injury...folks, we are talking about a hand injury. Not a spinal injury, not a knee or an ankle injury, not even a concussion, but a hand injury. It's a hand....what's the worst that happens....he comes back to try to save the season and refractures his finger. Please, chris is a tough kid and if he can, he will be back and playing in the ncaa's.

What is it with the ridiculous short memory of this team? Last time I checked, we were 9-1 in the last 10 games before Chris went down. Even if you want to assume we lose that first Cincy game (which I don't because despite the fact we played like crap, in the few stretches where we did play our game, we were streets better than them. I don't doubt we would've made a run to at least have a shot to win the game down the stretch had Chris not gotten hurt), we're still 9-2 in the last 11. We lose 2 games without Chris, of which we would probably have gone 1-1 or 2-0 with him, and people are talking about how "disheveled" we look?
People need to calm the f down. Maybe I'm creating a straw man, but I get the sense that the posters who are convinced this 3 game slide is indicative of some horrible truth about GU basketball are the same people who were convinced that this team had a low ceiling this year and wasn't that good. If we weren't that good to begin with, then a 10-8 team (probably with the profile of a 12-6 team if we were healthy this year) should be overachieving. I don't think we are a true 10-8 team the way the Packers weren't a true 10-6 team. We've lost 2.5 games of Chris and had Julian and Austin slowed by injuries.
And don't give me any response like well Pitt still won without Gibbs or X team has had a worse injury situation but keeps winning. The difference between this team and some other "elite" teams is we have very very little margin for error. We all knew that at the beginning of the year. But so are most teams...check how BYU would do without the Jimmer, SDSU without Leonard or Gay, UNC without Zeller or Barnes, or Purdue without Moore or Johnson. So basically, that argument boils down to, well we're not Duke, Pitt, Kansas, OSU (maybe), or Texas who could withstand a major injury. Shockingly, the teams that can survive that this year are 5 of the best teams in the country.
We have depth, but it's unproven. We have talent, but it's young. Had Greg come back, then yes, by all means rip the team for getting blown out without Chris. We would have had other options and the ability to adjust. But this team is thin on established talent (especially because Jason decided to leave his game at home on Xmas break). We're not "disheveled." We're just reliant on our two stars. Now we only have one.

I also think it's fairly ridiculous that people think there's a possibility that anyone on the staff would clear Chris to play if they believed there would be a significant risk of re-injury. With no inside knowledge whatsoever, I am still 100% certain of the following: Chris' time frame for returning is contingent on his hand healing properly. It is not contingent on anything else, not even the NCAA tournament. It's like people think Calipari is coaching this team or something.

I'm all for negative and/or cynical posts, but there are some trolls on here, clearly fans of other programs, just trying to stir the pot, that should be banned asap.
