I swear you people are a bunch of fake phonies. LOL! Now y'all look stupid creating this thread because you tried to paint a narrative that Mr. Harmon was attacking Ewing which never was the case in the first place. LOL! For the record, I don't think you are a bad guy at heart. But do you insult people in your real life the way you do on HoyaTalk?

Question: Is Ryan OK? It looked to me like he took himself out of the game, pointing to his eyes as if he had an injury there of some sort. And then never came back in.

That t-shirt is the summation of everything wrong with this program today. On another subject, I couldn't agree more with the praise for Carey.

To, um, return to substance, I want a coach who can recruit good, classy players who *want* to be at Georgetown and don't do stupid stuff off-court. I want a coach who (with help from his staff) looks after those guys to make sure they are doing well (back in the day, Mary Fenlon was hired for a reason), and helps them if they aren't. And I want a coach who builds a culture that makes his recruits *want* to stay and continue to be part of it. Having kids who, instead, get kicked out of school and/or transfer - repeatedly - tells me something is wrong with the culture that the head coach is responsible for building and maintaining.

Somewhere on this board I am on record as saying that, by his fifth year, Patrick should demonstrate much better player retention - the repeated transfers and off-court issues must stop - and lead a team that is 50/50 or better in the conference. I cited last year's BE tournament win and this year's good recruiting class as reasons for hope. It is now becoming increasingly clear, however, that 50/50 in the conference isn't going to happen. Too soon to tell about transfers and such.
I have not been one to bash the coach over and over on this board. I thought the hire was fishy at best but since, in fact, he *was* hired I have wanted badly for Patrick and the program to be successful. Off the court he is classy, well-liked, and an outstanding representative of the University. On the court it is clear he tries as hard as anyone in the business.
But, look, for whatever set of reasons, it hasn't worked out. And I don't believe it is likely to. It is sad to say but it is time to start over, with a completely new approach and direction that is focused on the future rather than the past.
That said, I do not at all favor making a change "right now," in the middle of the season. Patrick has meant way too much to Georgetown to have it end that way. Let him go out with some dignity, and preferably on his own volition. But next year we need to be building a new program with a new head coach.

Patrick was out "in accordance with DC policy," whatever that means. Other guys were said to be out because of illness.

Don is or best player by far and has been all year. It's not enough, obviously, but it's truth.

Main defender gets beat so someone comes over to help, leaving the lane wide open for a score. Over and over.

Unfortunately, one (but not the only) reason it is going to be hard to get kids to come in is that we are at the bottom of the Big East, and have shown little success under Ewing outside the BET. I actually don't think Ewing's recruiting is the biggest thing to criticize him on. He's brought in some good kids. The problem has been coaching them up, and then keeping them, and he has not done either well. This. I think we have the talent currently to be much more competitive than we are. Maybe not to contend for a high NCAA seed, but good enough to win half or more of our BE games. Obviously, it hurt a lot that we had yet another key transfer (Wahab) and yet another disciplinary dismissal (King), but we still have some decent, if not great, players.

On a different subject, I am concerned by the benching of Mutombo, who could have helped us be more competitive in the game. It is eerily similar to Patrick's treatment of and silence WRT LeBlanc, and we know how that turned out. That said, it is very hard to imagine Ryan getting into character-related trouble. So I'm left being curious and baffled.

I'm starting to think Harmon is a bit of a jerk, and not just because of this post. Maybe that's just me.
