Enough. We didn't deserve a 3 seed at least in my opinion and we got one. If we can't beat Belmont ESP after losing the way we have recently then there is not much to talk about. Just win.

I'm certainly not a tactician or x's and o's guy, but it seems like against teams that play more physically (bump) and/or slow us down when running through our progressions (hold), we always struggle. WVU and Cinci are certainly teams like that, no? We never seem to get clean cuts against those teams b/c they're always bumping and holding, and a lot of BE refs "let 'em play".
However, I agree that there's no excuse for the lazy turnovers (guys not coming to the ball, trying to send an overhead pass across the court w/2-3 opposing players in the way, out-of bounds). Drives me nuts when my 11 year old daughter does it...

Very fond memories of Hoyamotion trips to MSG - although the noon start usually puts a bit of a crimp in the early pre-game on-board festivities (I know this year's game isn't noon, but I recall one such game where I didn't know Jayson Williams had broken his foot until I read it in the paper the next day).

I hope many many locals attend. Even if I were a student unless I lived within an hour or so of school I'd be hardpressed to hang around for this tilt, assuming you could find a place to crash as I'm sure campus housing is shut down. I'd definitely come back for the early January games as a student, but not 7-10 days after exams.

Given the alternatives out there, I'm guessing most people aren't saying JTIII should get canned.
But I'm guessing our system should be tweaked a bit. The Missouri game in December was fun, but that was 25 games ago.

I seriously have never seen one team lose a contact in a game - we lose about a dozen a season.
It is entirely fair to question the coach now - the team is measured on results. No one was happy with Joe Lang a few years ago. But since the Final Four, we have lost to Davidson, Ohio, and VCU in our last three tournament games - frankly it is not acceptable.
I have only been listening to this game for the last eight minutes of game time - trying to get out all of my frustration now so I can sleep better and not return to the board for a month or so.
Let's hope Moses and the frosh cavalry will fix things, because our "chemistry" didn't seem to help us this season.

Thank you Chris.
What do you think JTIII said to this team at halftime - don't worry, run your stuff and it will all work out?
Even Bob Wenzel knew that wouldn't work early in the 2nd half.
In all honesty, did JV sell his soul to the devil for that mid January to mid February run he went on?
Yes, I'm not being very positive right now - sorry to everyone on the Talkboard with the rose colored glasses.

You're right RDF - although Hollywood still needs to learn how to play D a bit.

I've been watching Hoyas w/an interest since frosh year in fall of '88 ('Zo's frosh year). This is the least interested I have ever been in watching a Georgetown game. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and have many other things that occupy my time, or because I am totally fed up with our brand of basketball right now.
We don't defend the three, we haven't shot the ball well (for the most part) in six weeks, and we have no life on the court (with the exception of CW).
I feel that this is the least invested I've ever been in a Georgetown team. I know most of the players are playing very hard, but in my incredibly humble opinion, we need to figure out what the hell our identity is as a team.
I feel horribly that CW is going out like this right now. Hold your head high.
Can't say I'm excited about the future right now. Can't believe how far away we are from four years ago - I guess Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert are not walking through that door...
Despondent on LI.

Agree w/poster who said we need to get Hollywood more touches, and especially w/in flow of the offense.
While JC hits some big threes, they always seem to be when feet are totally set, the close out on him is late and he can step into it. Give Markel some more run next Saturday, esp. with another full week of practice to give him the reps as the primary ball handler.

Certainly can screw up (thankfully someone's not breaking down my work week on a talkboard), but doesn't mean it shouldn't improve. The alternative possession issue is a pet peeve of mine, not a fan of calling timeout just b/c you may get tied up.
And a "T" on CW at the end of that game would have caused this board to erupt, let's be honest...

I have not watched nearly enough BE basketball this season for various reasons. Wondering how we match up against these two teams (yes, I know we are playing against 'Nova this weekend - I'm not looking past that game, but 'Nova's one of the few BE teams other than ours that I've seen a couple of times this season, so I'm not asking about tomorrow's game).
I think that the three games against these two teams will be crucial. What say you, Hoyaland?

Unless I leave work soon I'll never be home in time to watch there, and that proposition looks dicey right now....who's watching the game out and where?
