There is nothing on TV worth watching on Thursday. The students are out for the Holidays. Lurkers, come on down to the booth. Memphis is used to playing before their home sell-out crowds, Show them we can do it too

I hope many many locals attend. Even if I were a student unless I lived within an hour or so of school I'd be hardpressed to hang around for this tilt, assuming you could find a place to crash as I'm sure campus housing is shut down. I'd definitely come back for the early January games as a student, but not 7-10 days after exams.

I will sadly be 500 miles away on Thursday night, but my tickets will be well-used!

I think I've received 1-2 e-mails per day about this game from the ticket office this week. Probably not looking good. Hope they give out a lot of free tickets to school, community groups, etc.

Buy 1 Get 1 Free - not bad.

B plus to A minus. Good heckling of Pastner. Anacostia High School band did a nice job despite only having about 15 members.

Official attendance 12,045...so about 60% capacity. A full student section (like, 2007/2008 full) would have added maybe 1,800-2,000, so we still came up probably 6,000 short w/ locals despite the full-court press on discounted tickets/giveaways.
But if the crowd's into the game, and they were tonight, it can seem bigger than it is on paper.
It's the simple things that get 'em going: Gatling Gun and whatever it is John Cahill's doing out there.

We had a pair of really obnoxious Memphis fans in behind us. How about selling your extras to HOYA fans. Cahill was in full HOYA hater form too. If Greg Monroe were to sit behind our bench, I think he would call a T on him.

announcers were impressed with the turnout. how was the atmosphere in the arena? I thought the atmosphere was great. After such a weak non-conference home schedule this year, I think everyone was just so desperate for a fun, intense, competitive game against a solid team. We definitely got that tonight. The last few minutes of the first half was probably the highlight. I can confirm that Memphis fans were not sitting in Dan McQ's seats.

I would assume students are still gone for the Marquette game. The way our schedule sets up this year is just unfortunate. Weak weekend opponents for the most part and a couple of good games while students are away. It is too bad because this team deserves better game day atmosphere then they have gotten thus far but with Howard, American, NJIT, Savannah St, UNC Green & IUPUI as your garbage games, SID had to expect this.
Hopefully this is a one year scheduling approach in order to gain experience for a young squad.

Buy 1 Get 1 Free - not bad. I'm surprised that February 4 against USF isn't included in that deal. Saturday morning, 11am tip, yikes. Might be tough for some fans to get up for that one. Almost as surprised that that Marquette is part of the deal too - Marquette was until recently undefeated and ranked in or around the top 10. The crowd against Memphis looked to be pretty good on TV. Of course, it always helps when we play as well as we did (aside from some hiccups at the end). Looking forward to more of that, and better, during the rest of the season.

Good crowd for Memphis! Folks were into it pretty much the whole game.

12000 fans and 2000 students when they are in school- that's the fan base that will pay to see their HOYAs. Everything over that, it's the opposition that they want to see and will pay to see.

Well marquette is on January 4th so before students are back I assume that's why it's included.
