Look, Hoya bleu folks can bend over backwards all they want. The point remains, though, that not accepting credit cards is inconsistent with trying to maximize revenue. The AD has apparently accepted cards in the past so it is confusing why they wouldn't do so again this year.

Please provide the "RPI stuff" to which you are referring. You know the preseason "RPI stuff" doesn't matter as much as the postseason "RPI stuff," right? DWF compiled a comprehensive list of non conf. opponents by RPI ranking. Georgetown had the 4th best average in the Big East--behind DePaul, Louisville, and Syracuse (who doesn't play a single top 50 team). We play: 3 top 50 teams, 1 top 100 team, 3 teams from 100-200, 3 teams from 200-300, and 1 300+ team. I'm more than fine with that range of opponents. And yes, I would assume that the vast majority of posters realize that post-season berths are awarded based on post-season resumes, but I'm just guessing you don't have access to the 2007-2008 post-season rankings quite yet. If you do, you might want to put them to good use in Vegas. For now, I'm willing to use the rankings available.

Captains:Tyler Crawford Patrick Ewing, Jr. Roy Hibbert Jonathan Wallace Hard to think of four better representatives of Georgetown. Great players, great people.

U.S. Americans? Is this the Miss Teen South Carolina pageant? What about South Africa and The Iraq? Don't they need our help?

For example you can't have two players tied at 1 and two players tied at second. Idiotic mistakes like that really make me feel this guy has little idea about what he's doing. I was more offended by this: "Instead of ranking them, I am going to list 5 to watch, in no particular order, because I think all 6 play VERY important roles for their teams and should be players of immediate impact." Yep 6 out of 5.

You really deserve this day, Dajuan. I hope you can surround yourself with those who care and enjoy your special day. Thanks for sharing your wit and grammatical acumen with the Hoyatalk community. Happy birthday, guy!

This is the most worthless sentence I've ever read about Roy.

This is no different (actually better because the games at least count) than NFL or NBA season tickets where you have to buy the preseason games to be able to buy the regular season games if you want to have your seats for the entire season. I agree with SF's points about home and aways evening out, but Beginning, the different is that NFL and NBA teams don't select their non-conference/non-division opponents. We do.

I guess I just don't share their concern about whether the Princeton system can produce a championship. I'm especially puzzled given JTIII's pretty outstanding post season record with it here.

Cutting football doesn't save a whole lot of money, and doesn't make a lot of sense. I thought football's budget was $1.6 million/year. How does cutting it not save a lot of money?? (I am not advocating doing so in any way/shape/form)

i applied to Northwestern the year after they made the Rose Bowl in 1996-97...their applications shot up something like 25% from the year prior if I recall correctly from the acceptance letter. Around the same time, Northwestern shot up to around 10 in the Us News rankings... I heard straight from Northwestern's finance people that, as expected, football donations following that Rose Bowl shot up something like a third. What they were genuinely impressed with, though, was that non-football donations also increased by nearly the same amount. Amazing what a little school spirit can do for the bottom line.

Applications in the College rose 2% this past year and 7% overall. To clarify--we made the final four in March, while applications were due in January. So any potential "surge" wouldn't show up until this year's crop of applicants.

Based on precident, I doubt Verizon will put one up. I mean Final Fours come and go, but only one team a year can lay claim to "WNBA Attendance Leaders."

Not happy to read this from the CSTV Hang Time blog: "Bust
Roy Hibbert, Georgetown - More NBA Scouts means more scrutiny and more picking apart of the somewhat awkward big man's game. If Hibbert plays as tamely as he did last week, during the Hoyas season, he will cost himself many positions in next year's Draft."There seems to be a good amount of revisionist history here. Yeah, some mock drafts had Roy as high as what, #5? Others, however, had him at the tail end of the lottery, closer to 13 I think. CSTV is off their rocker if they think a 7'2" pure center like Roy is falling out of the tail end of the lottery. My prediction: Roy does NOT fall out of the lottery. You can quote me.

Well excuuuuuse me. I didn't realize there was a timetable for when differing opinions could be offered. Please send me the memo so I can be better informed next time, oh wise one. If you'll read the post itself, it very clearly calls you out for being a wet blanket during the middle of the summer. Wierd how you only disputed the timetable part. (ohhh snap)

We should play it just like we would have if Ronny had not resigned. Agreed. I don't really think we should be gunning for a statement with this game. Glad the wet blankets showed up so quickly. It is the middle of August. Let's at least wait until the season starts before entering uber-serious mode. And SF, yes, I understand what happens after players transfer or graduate. I should have said "Spann/Sead/Kenny-TYPE substitutions."

I think we'll go to Ball State. I think we'll thump them by 35 points and then get the hell out of there. I see two viable options for how to play the game: 1. Play all starters for the whole game... absolutely no Spann/Saed/Kenny substitutions at the end. 2. Do not even dress the starters. Allow our second and third teams to destroy their first team.

You've changed your name to Kige Ramsey and have gotten a job at You Tube Sports!!??
The old Bubbrubb would never have done that. You've changed.
