Pretty good article. Ineresting that Roy says he originally wanted to go in the draft, I hadn't seen anything about that.

I love this quote:
"He handles the ball on the perimeter a lot in college, so it's good see him in the post all the time," one NBA scout said. "He needs to get stronger, but he still scores most of the time (when) he gets the ball inside. He definitely rebounds pretty well, and he's got that great jump hook with his right hand and a nice touch. To see him play against a strong guy like (Memphis' Joey) Dorsey and totally overpower him was a pretty good sign." ;D ;D ;D
And I love the emphasis on his academics and long-term plans, not just being drafted. I think both Jeff and Roy have really proven a lot and helped the GU program a lot with both of their decisions and how they are preparing to thrive in them.

Pretty good article. Interesting that Roy says he originally wanted to go in the draft, I hadn't seen anything about that. Of course he initially wanted to go to the draft. He did declare. Sounds like the hard work of the Pan Am Games are going to pay large dividends next season and certainly will help him accomplish his goal of being a long term NBA player. Roy just seems like a class act. Every time I read a quote from him, I am impressed.

"To see him play against a strong guy like (Memphis' Joey) Dorsey and totally overpower him was a pretty good sign." That's what I like to hear.

Not happy to read this from the CSTV Hang Time blog: "Bust
Roy Hibbert, Georgetown - More NBA Scouts means more scrutiny and more picking apart of the somewhat awkward big man's game. If Hibbert plays as tamely as he did last week, during the Hoyas season, he will cost himself many positions in next year's Draft."slog.cstv.com/hangtime/2007/07/pan_am_trials_pandemonium_a_re.html#morePower up, big fella...

No offense, Locker, but couldn't you have kept this in the Pan Am thread you had going with all the other CSTV links (which were much appreciated)? No need to add the CSTV Pan Am stuff to other threads dedicated to separate Roy articles.

No need to add the CSTV Pan Am stuff to other threads dedicated to separate Roy articles. None taken, and I certainly could have, but this looked like the active thread discussing Roy's performance at the tryouts. If this does not conform to the Platonic ideal as to which thread a post should be attributed, then it should be moved, I guess (though if I were a stickler on these kinds of matters I might query whether this particular thread was even necessary in the first place). Anyhoo, let's hope Roy starts kicking butt once he gets to Rio.

Yeah, some mock drafts had Roy as high as what, #5? Others, however, had him at the tail end of the lottery, closer to 13 I think. CSTV is off their rocker if they think a 7'2" pure center like Roy is falling out of the tail end of the lottery. My prediction: Roy does NOT fall out of the lottery. You can quote me.
