Same level of evidence that certain posters here are "miserable human beings"....prior display of performance. The difference is that in Bristol's case, it's been a couple years due to injury. Bristol was never a highly sought after recruit, which is why he went to Howard n the MEAC instead of a better program. He didn't do all that much at Howard (reminder - in the MEAC, about as low a level as you can play in Divison 1). He then sat a year, transferred to Georgetown and sat another year, did very little thiis summer at Kenner, and did very little last night in 29 minutes of playing time. Bristol is not, nor ever has been, a "gifted player". His +/- was -1 last night and he had 5 turnovers, which is tough to do at his position. Just won Rookie of the Year for the Conference but I'm sure that's not as much accomplishment as the posters that I was talking about have experienced in their college academic careers.

Just watched the end of the game and the OT again. A thought or 2 to add to what hoyadestroya says above, which I think is right on. O.K. I will take the way our Georgetown team played in OT all night long. Primo was great, yes. But the others played with purpose and intensity. Bristol fouls out on a dumb foul but it was a hustle foul, and he knew when it happened that it wasn't his best moment. BTW - we shouldn't forget that Bristol is something of a veteran presence and gifted player. Frosh of the Year in the MEAC 2 years ago, hung with the team after transferring, and brings some game to the court now. Rough and rusty, yes, but I think he's got game and will help us this year. Mozone - brings definite veteran leadership and calm focus. Dude had 20 points. Can shoot the three. Plays defense pretty well, and has his head in the game (great weak side put back during OT, for example). Had the awareness to usher Riley away from the fracas and get him calmed down. Don't forget - he has played 4 years and has a pretty decent skill set. I like him and think that he also will help us in important ways this year. Maybe he'll show B Murray something about leadership. I wrote during the game that I was confused about why Jordan Riley also got a T in that exchange at the end of the game. OK about the goaltending (though it was close), but unless there was some verbal bad stuff, he should not have been rung up. In just a few minutes, Jordan played really well. 2 shot blocks, crisp passing, in position, stayed in his lane & didn't try to shoot. Crazy athleticism - like I said muscle and hustle. Hope we see him get steady minutes. The FS2 announcers last night were very good BTW. Called a solid game. Had done their homework and had insights on the players and programs. Knew they had a good game on their hands early and rode that. Treated the teams impartially and knew their basketball (like how PE should have instructed his team to foul after B Murray's misses, for example). Baby steps of improvement every week and we will be happy with what we see on the court in January. Let's go!!! What evidence is there that Bristol is a “gifted player”? Same level of evidence that certain posters here are "miserable human beings"....prior display of performance. The difference is that in Bristol's case, it's been a couple years due to injury.

There's nothing wrong with seeking out a style of coaching that you believe best suits you. Some people respond to getting yanked when they make a mistake; some don't. Some respond to getting yelled at; some do better with a softer touch. The very best managers of people (including coaches) learn how to engage different people in the most effective ways. But, obviously, some coaches gravitate to certain styles of instruction. Now, whether you're correct about what's in your best interest? That's a different issue entirely. And on that point with respect to Mac, I have no idea. I will say that Coach's subbing patterns do, at times, seem random and unexplainable. So, that's a fair critique in my view. The part that I think rubs people (including me) the wrong way is a lack of recognition (apparently) that your own personal development as a player is the sole goal. No. Your development as a person -- student, human, player -- certainly is A goal. So is winning games. The two aren't mutually exclusive. But to insinuate that the staff should subvert what it feels is best in the moment to succeed within a game in favor purely of instruction? Frankly, it's naïve. Regardless, it's not like he played a ton more at TTU than he did at GU. 26 MPG his FR year; 27 MPG his SO year. And then 30 MPG at TTU. So, uh, coach, I don't think it's objectively true that he was yanked very often and then not put back in the game. I actually don’t understand what his high school coach is basing this off of. Mac was regularly yanked during TTU games at the end and planted on the bench until time ran out because of his defense. Not to mention it’s super odd his posse still has our names in their mouths a year on. Exactly, he was yanked for similar issues for 3 years across 2 different coaches with similar statistical results. However, Mr Small Town high school basketball coach seems to feel confident enough to make that horse$hit quote. I guess he has absolved himself of any responsibility of starting the preparation of teaching the young man that he would need to play a slightly different game at the college level to become an efficient player.

Yup and some players despite being taken out for the same bad habits over 3 years continue to do those bad habits and have to continue to be taken out.

This team may have some heavy legs but they are fighting. The offensive rebounds given up don't look like lack of effort but just a step slow. Let's get some stops, some rebounds and send them home.

Huh, if it's tier 1 staff, shouldn't they be put on hold. Duke is ending their season due to a manager testing positive. Let's be honest here...Duke is ending their season so they can put an asterisk next to it and continue to claim however many consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament.

18pts 5assist 0 FREAKING TURNOVERS!!! Lord have mercy what a game from this kid. Dante's been great for a while (I know you know this), except his jumper has been a half inch short and he's still adjusting to shooting at the rim with taller people around. He has a nice stroke and gets good separation and elevation. It is a matter of time if he works hard. He's quick as hell and you can tell he's got some court savvy, so I expect he learns to finishes better at the rim. His handle is slick as heck. He works hard on D. What's not to love? I couldn't possibly agree with this more. He plays his damn heart out on both sides of the floor and hasn't backed down against anyone in his matchups. We've had a lot of freshman guards over the years that haven't shot well that have turned out to be good and sometimes our best offensive player by the time their junior and senior years came around. This kid gets me pumped up watching the game and i'll say it again...THE WAY HE PLAYS IS CONTAGIOUS!

Dante out hustling everybody And that is contagious! I refuse to get on this kid while he hustles like that. Three more years of him is going to be a GIGANTIC positive for this program.

5) I hope that next year we cannot hear “MOVE” & “REBOUND” because the arenas are packed and we are charging towards the tournament. What if the whole arena is chanting “MOVE” & “REBOUND”. Kind of like HOYA, SAXA That would be unbelievable! Somebody needs to make this happen!

At this point, he just needs to be a spot up 3 pt shooter. If he is hot, then he plays. If not, he probably needs to be sitting nest to Orr. His drives are 1 good , 3 bad at this point.
