For me it was useful only when I had no other way to watch or hear the game. That will not be the case the rest of the year.

Very fond memories of Hoyamotion trips to MSG - although the noon start usually puts a bit of a crimp in the early pre-game on-board festivities (I know this year's game isn't noon, but I recall one such game where I didn't know Jayson Williams had broken his foot until I read it in the paper the next day). I still have all of my HoyaMotion t-shirts. ForestHills - haven't heard from you in awhile (VCU?). Good to see you are alive and well.

Mark me down in the group of people who think the fact that this conversation was moved to games of interest is ridiculous. The topics on our board look stale whenever I visit. I see why. I agree with this. Why couldn't there be a separate thread on the Xavier-Cincy incident? Why is that so horrible?

WOOWWOO CONGRATS TO DFW ON A TREMENDOUS FRONT PAGE TODAY LOTS OF STORIES HISTORY OF MCDONOUGH BIG EAST AND LOTS MORE. great articles on the best college bball website in the country TAKE A LOOK wowo gratefull dead at mcdonough WOWOOOW I agree. Both the Big East expansion and McDonough coverage have been great. Although I was disappointed to see that DFW failed to include Bruce Springsteen's 3 night stand at McDonough 36 years ago this week (December 5, 6 and 7, 1975) in support of an album he had released earlier that year called Born to Run. According to my sources Bruce also played Gaston Hall in March and November of 1974. I really would have liked to have been at any of those shows.

Found this Dave Telep tweet from a few minutes ago on the CBB page at ESPN.com:
"More I watch Hoyas fight tape more impressed you get w/staff's swift decision to exit. Foreign country, mob scene. Must have been scary"

If you think some of us fans rip III/Program--you should hear what this guy and his assistants say about Georgetown. It makes critical fans look tame. I have heard this point raised several times on the Board over the past few years. Just curious - what evidence do you have that this is the case?

If we can somehow keep this thing under 60 pts maybe closer to 50 and clark and vaughn can provide some kind of offense we might have a shot. Just don't know if we have the ability and patience to play a quality 2-3 or matchup zone against them for any extended period of time. The thought of little Kimba sliding around on the garden floor celebrating with arms upraised,Calhoun and CT fans has me considering ending a 31 year BET streak that continued even through the darkest days of eshertick. Hang in there. If you made it through Geoff Billet's game winner in 1998 and the St. John's game in 2009, don't worry about Wed. That one was so painful. I can still picture him up on the scorer's table. I thought we had that game after Shernard gave us the lead with about 17 seconds left (I think).

WARNING: Keep the discussion civil and within bounds or posts will be deleted without warning. I would be civil if we only lost by 8 as you are suggesting in the subject line of this thread. Freudian slip posting now fixed.

I get MASN through DirecTV but the low def is painful to watch. Got excited about this Live Well option, but unfortunately they don't carry it in the Boston area.

A lot of discussion on the Marquette boards about their inability to win on the road against a good (i.e., top 25) team. Some interesting stats quoted below (note: have made no effort to verify accuracy, but love the stats based on where GU fits in).
---------------------------------------
Marquette remains one of only 321 teams without a road win vs. RPI top 25
Written by: jpudner@concentricgrasstops.com (bamamarquettefan1)
Several MU cynics agreed with the appraisal of former basketball great Len Elmore toward the end of today's loss to Georgetown that MUs inability to knock off a quality opponent on the road could hurt their chances Selection Sunday.
The problem with that logic is that all of MUs road losses have been to teams in the RPI Top 25, and if you eliminate every team that has yet to win at an RPI Top 25 this year, then you are only left with a 24 team tournament. Here are the only teams to accomplish what MU failed to do today:
3 wins at RPI top 25 -- Pitt 2 wins at RPI top 25 -- Florida, Syracuse, Gtown 1 win at RPI top 25 -- No. 1 Ohio State and 19 other teams 0 wins at RPI top 25 -- Marquette and 320 other teams
Marquette is 3-0 on the road when not playing a top 25 team, so the just can't win on the road argument doesn't work. Here is what has happened this year when a team has gone into the gym of an RPI Top 25 team, like MU did at Georgetown today:
67% - lose by double digits 24% - lose by single digits 9% - win
Yes, my colleagues tease me with the double digit losses banner hanging from the rafters in the background of the Bradley Center on this page, but I wouldn't be bragging about keeping it close if we were playing in Conference USA.

For as long as I can remember Ill be heading up to Hartford to watch Us cream the huskies. Last game there I think we blew them out, all I remember is there fans saying how badly they suck, lets hope for a repeat performance:) A bunch of us from the Boston area will be making the trip to Hartford Wednesday. I would be just fine with a repeat of our game against them last year in DC or (even better) the game in Hartford 2 years ago.

Amazing performance by the best player in Big East and a future NBA starter. Brooks was pretty amazing yesterday. Lucky for him they didn't call any palming violations on him. He would have had 25 if they did.

It seems to me one of III's answers to our Big East losing streak was to shore up the bench and go back to a smaller rotation. This is what he has done since he got to the hilltop and he doesn't appear to be changing his ways. Against Rutgers and Seton Hall, Vee was a DNP and Henry's minutes have gone down (at least it appears that way). Jerrelle's minutes are also almost non-existent (he was not good again tonight and I don't want to sit here and disparage the kid). So we have 6 guys playing heavier minutes (Chris, Austin, Jason, Hollis, Julian and Nate), and then Markel and Henry playing a bit. I was at the game tonight and was watching the bench. Vee was sitting with Moses, Caprio and Dougherty at the end of the bench. I remember at one point in the first half, III went over to Vee and told him something (which I didn't see him do with anybody else on the bench). I don't know what III's thinking is because I agree with everyone, he should be getting minutes (and I said in a couple of posts that I think Vee is the difference in the Hoyas getting a couple extra Big East wins this year). However, whatever III's reasoning, Vee seems like the consummate teammate to me and will be a great teammate whether he is playing or not (I would compare him to Markel in that regard). On MASN, they had a shot of Vee on the bench late in the game pumping his fists and clearly excited about the comeback. Was very happy to see that - he appears to continue to have a good attitude (and be a great teammate) notwithstanding the lack of PT.

Calipari just got away with an Esh strategy there big time. I can't believe it may work. Was thinking the same thing - exact same differential too (4 seconds). Crazy strategy - extend the game in that situation IMO. Will be interesting to see if another team can do something with 2.5 seconds.

For those unhappy with our win tonight, at least we're not UK. What a beatdown so far. Kentucky has cut it to 2 with 4 to play. I will be very surprised if they don't end up with the win. Alabama has fallen completely apart in the last 10 minutes.

That 7 + minute Pats drive in the 4th quarter, down 10, included some of the worst play calling I think I have ever seen. Especially surprising from Belicheck the genius and the greatest QB to ever play the game. Nance I think referred to the drive a few times as disciplined, which I guess is one way to spin it. If I was a Pats fan I think I would have died during that horrific drive.
