Dan must have some "work" or something that prevents him from doing his duties and starting a discussion thread Marquette is 3-7 in road/neutral games this year with their only wins coming @ UW-Milwaukee (a "Boeheim" road game), @ USF and @ Rutgers. They've got a really good offense (11th in KenPom) but their defense isn't very good. Another solid defensive effort and we should win. I agree. I think we win with defense in this one. They are very solid offensively, but to be honest, a lot of teams have played them poorly defensively. The Pitt game was in the 80s, I think. If we clamp down, we should win.
No excuses for the crowd, by the way. Sunday afternoon after the Syracuse game. It should be a packed house.

Why discuss this game when I am letting last night's wash over me? What! Still? Don't you realize that this next game is a trap! We have to stay focused, one game at a time, can't dwell on the past, or look past the next game. We need laser like focus on the next step--beating Marquette!!!!!!!!!! ;D

The upcoming game could be a bit of a trap. Need to stay focused. Marquette is desperate for a big win.

Marquette is very, very good and balanced. When I first saw them play against WVU a while back, and since, I thought that they'd end up in the top 5 of the BE. Their problem has been losing close games. This to me is the toughest matchup left on our BE schedule. I think we can win a low-scoring sloppy game or a barnburner against them, but in between those two types of games is where I would get nervous.

Keep the momentum going. No let ups. This game is the only one that matters (for now).
GO HOYAS!!! Beat the Warriors.

JTIII knows it well, already focusing on Sunday during his post-game with Fraschilla. Defense, defense, defense - as long as we keep focusing on that, we will play well. Marquette will pressure us in the half-court, so the backdoor and JV down low will be big.

One at a time is right. This is a classic trap game - at home, sandwiched between road contests contests at Syracuse and Uconn. A team without focus could expect to win by just showing up.
But I think our struggles earlier in the year, and our current win streak will help to keep the focus squarely on the Golden Eagles. That's my take.

Again, another BE team that I feel I know nothing about this year. I know Butler and DJO are gamers, but who is this Juco kid Crowder they have? Do they have any size? Not that that necessarily matters. It didn't last year.

Crowder is very good. Can play inside and out, it's like having a second Jimmy Butler and he killed us last year.
They have a big man this year in Gardner. He's not overly tall, but he's got some girth. He had a big game or two early but I haven't heard much of him this year. I don't think he plays much anymore.
Actually, I'm just kinda surprised they haven't won more this year. I guess it is in their defense as offensively they are a strong team.

On Crowder, think Lazar Hayward from last year, but probably better. Similar size, better outside shooter.
