South Carolina lost! Props to Iowa. They played a great game. Va tech and LSU was a good game too. Thought Va Tech had it, then LSU made a comeback. Two of the best players in the country Reese vs Clark in the final. Should be a good one. Dawn Staley was too preoccupied with taking the Georgetown Mens head coach Job that’s why she lost. That shipped sailed. iowa80 scared her off due to his concern on how much her salary would drain other G-town sports programs financially. He got to her before Ronny had a chance.

Her teammates screen for her quite well to get good looks and disrupt defenders. A lot of times it isn't even set plays. That shook Carolina and they had no answer defensively. They play as a well oiled machine. That is a testament to her coach and teammates. She's got a good quick shot too, from long range at that. LSU can't have a lapse like they did against Va Tech or it is going to be a long night for LSU.

Don't forget Freddy Brown from The BX.
That is the thing, we didn't necessarily need a pipeline given our area. The DC/B-more/PG/NoVA was our own backyard.
Did Cooley recruit the NYC/NJ areas at Providence?
Either way, there is more than enough talent locally to do well. Establishing NYC/NJ would be nice, but isn't necessarily vital.

Respect both points of view.
Curious to see how Cooley navigates the local area recruiting.
What he is doing now is one of the main reasons G-town wanted him: He is working the campaign trail and getting G-town's name (and brand) back out into the public eye. That is just who Cooley is naturally as a person. It is how he built Providence into a consistent winner. You could see it in the press conference. It is what G-town needed at this time.
Granted, while that is only part of the battle, it is a good start.

Good for him. Can't hurt. It can only help to get feedback on what he needs to develop.
Wish him the best.

South Carolina will be tough to beat. Iowa has Clark.
Va Tech and LSU both look good. Should be a good match-up.
Think Carolina talks it all.

Any coaches with B-more, PG/DC, Northern VA connections? Does Cooley have a track record of pulling recruits from these areas? That will be the key. I can't speak to Cooley, but see just above. Hampton area coach, but he was also in Alexandria back in the day too.

It's over.
Cooley is the guy now and moving forward is what we are doing.

The middle of the country left out of the Final Four.
3 East coast and 1 West coast team.

I know people hate Connecticut, but it's best for the conference if both Creighton/Connecticut advance as far as possible. With the media contract coming up in a few years, this matters. Can we please, please call them “UConn” and not “Connecticut”? Some of us live here and don’t want to be besmirched by association!

Didn't know Larranaga is a Providence alum.
Good coach. ACC thanking their lucky stars for him this year.

Bogus, but San Diego is a bigger market than Omaha.
Bad enough they got FAU in the Final Four. CBS is happy.

Ewing was tied at halftime with them in the 2nd game.
First game on the road, we were up and in cruise control in the 2nd half taking it to them. First time UCONN trailed all year. Only for it to go all down the drain with the infamous Ewing-era defense that couldn't stop huge runs in the 2nd half.
Cooley beat UCONN this year.
Miller beat UCONN this year.
Smart beat them in the Big East tournament.
Fanta is a good guy, and yes Pitino is great. But cmon.
If you followed UCONN, that was more about UCONN than Iona. UCONN had a habit of failing to live up to expectations in the tournament. Probably had the jitters against Iona. This year they are finally playing like they are capable of playing.

Name some players who transferred and balled at the major conference level after rotting on the bench with Ewing You can't, but it doesn't even matter. It's over. Cooley is here and he'll decide who to keep on the roster going forward. As I said, Collin Holloway was a major piece under Ewing who played about 25 mpg. He was down to about 16 at Tulane. Does that work? If you think a bad coach suddenly becomes good when deciding who sees the floor, that’s up to you. Right, you can't name them. Soooooooooo, Cooley is here though. He'll decide who is on the roster going forward.
