Are Americans Elect the same as No Labels? As in "serious policy disagreements are unseemly and must be countered with bipartisan magic/Mike Bloomberg".

While Santorum is the big winner tonight, Romney's ultimate victory is pretty much secured. Santorum doesn't have the organization and he's pulling single digits in NH, the money bomb that's going to drop tomorrow can't build an organization overnight.
Biggest loser tonight: Bachmann or UConn?

I'm pretty sure the Secret Service would have something to say about any POTUS or FLOTUS flying commercial. Seriously, I do not get the hate some people have for Michelle Obama. You realize the whole "huge Waldorf-Astoria bill" story was a hoax, don't you Elvado?

I mean, for weekday games now, I'm taking the Metro in from Fairfax and it takes about an hour. I am not calling for the university to pick me up and drive me in.

SFHoya99 is right as to why busing stopped. But really, campus is better served by mass transit than 90% of the country, so I really don't see why the lack of door-to-door conveyance is such a big deal. Off the top of my head, here are all the ways I can think of to get from campus to the Verizon Center: 1. Cab (cheaper if shared) 2. Walk less than an hour. 3. D2, D6, or G2 bus to Dupont Metro, train to Chinatown 4. GUTS bus to Rosslyn or Dupont, train to Metro Center or Chinatown 5. 38B to Rosslyn, train to Metro Center 6. Gtown-Union Station circulator to Mt. Vernon Square, walk a few blocks to arena 7. Take 32 or 36 bus to Foggy Bottom Metro, train to Metro Center 8. Take 32 or 36 bus to 7th & Pennsylvania NW, walk a few blocks This really isn't that hard, especially since you can get real-time info for all Metro and Circulator buses from a cell phone nowadays. The thing is, all of those options (besides cab) can take you an hour on the weekend and are no easier than hopping on the shuttle to the Metro that they provide for bball games (extremely limited GUTS service on weekends). If we want more student fans during these games, you are going to have to bus them directly there. That's not at all true, especially if you use the real-time bus information that's available (that is, all the buses now have GPS so you can see exactly when they're coming). All of the Metro or Circulator buses can be picked up on Resevoir, Wisconsin, or M. Should we just pave over Copley lawn to make room for all the buses needed?

I hope DFW didn't write his 5-piece essay on my account because I never read past the first couple paragraphs of his first essay when I realized it was biased and using fuzzy math. If money is your only concern, the only real math you need to know is that we get $2 million from Big East now after the football pigs take their fat cat share. We should be confident that, with the right leadership and vision, we can replace $2 million in a hoops first conference. Instead, today we are a part of a weakened, laughing stock, cobbled conference that stands to lose more teams like UConn, Louisville, and Cincinnati as soon as superior football conferences snatch them away from us. And we do this because we think we stand to bring in much more than $2 million when the conference re-negotiates its television contract? How much will this pathetic conference command in television revenue? How much will flow to Georgetown? I have my doubts. We should be getting on with the business of creating a best-in-class new architecture that affiliates us with like-minded institutions. We are Georgetown. We are not SMU. Shorter RD: A basketball-only conference will make up for lost revenue because magic. Same old song and dance. You're not allowed to use hope and good intentions as supporting mechanism to your argument.

So you're argument is "things changed since I've been born, therefore child rape will be legalized". I'm sorry, but your premises do not support your conclusions, and as a Georgetown graduate you should know basic logic. You're engaging in idle speculation in bad faith. I might as well say "the internet was invented, therefore I predict unicorn horns will become the official currency of the United States".

I can't believe anyone still thinks basketball-only is something to shoot for. DFW basically wrote a 5 part piece in response to RD how this was all foolish, and all RD could say to DFW's parsing of the real, verifiable numbers was that a basketball conference would outperform all estimates because magic.
Moving into a sure to be short lived conference with west coast teams is a crappy move, but it is quite literally our only move, unless you don't care if revenues and attendance fall to A-10/CAA levels. Staying in the new Big "East' is the only way to save Georgetown basketball As We Know It.

Lubick is struggling so far, for sure. Any other year he might be losing his spot to Porter, sure. Right now, though, freshmen aren't expecting to start, so I'm fine with Nate continuing to start. He's shown enough potential to get some space to weather these kinks.
That said, his nickname is "Thundersnow". NO ONE DENIES THIS!

You have yet to explain this prediction at all. How would this happen? What exactly is making you think the trend is going in that way? Any explanation at all would help me not to think that you just threw this out there to troll everyone.
Considering that you're saying it would happen on my generation's watch, I think I'm pretty justified in stating you think it's our fault.

Let's get back on topic, shall we? Ed stated that because of us young folk, child rape would be legalized. I'm still waiting for Ed to defend that statement or even provide a plausible mechanism for it occurring.
Otherwise, I think I'm pretty justified in thinking that Ed decided to wantonly smear the younger members of the board as sympathetic to kiddie rape. I believe such libel is cause enough to ban him from this board absent an immediate apology.

For those of you putting words in my mouth, let me use crayon so you can see what I'm saying and what I'm not saying. I am equating nothing with anything. I am merely saying that in the lifetime of some on this board I expect to see sex with youth become an acceptable way of life. Why on earth do you think this? Do you have any reason for thinking this other than "the gays"? Seriously, make a Editeding argument, old man.

Ed doesn't care about your pesky facts. All he cares about is using weak slippery slope arguments to smear people who are gay or have premarital sex as being child rapists. It's the old "my ideological opponents are monsters somehow" gambit, and given that Ed and I share an alma mater, you'd think he could come up with something better.

With all the outrage being expressed about the abuse of young people at Penn State and, perhaps, Syracuse, I’m going to offer a future prediction and that is that, in the lifetime of at least some of the younger HoyaTalk members, sex between youth and adults will be seen as just another acceptable lifestyle. Shorter Ed: I can't boot stomp faggots anymore. This is the fault of you damn kids!
