Jimbo released a statement fully backing Fine so he definitely isn't distancing himself at this point. More than that, he called the accuser a liar. That's definitely an interesting turn.

'Jumped into a dispute that you were not involved"? I'm sorry, but isn't this a message board, where people interact - and enter and exit conversations at their leisure? We need permission to respond to elvado's posts now? The Democrat thing is stupid and it's a form of trolling. Oh Jeepers. TC said.it's trolling to say Democrat Party. I will stop immediately. There's the Left and their love of free speech again. Say anything you like as long as we agree with it. When we don't. You are a troll TC calling you a troll does not equal government suppression of speech. You're an idiot.

It baffles me why and every other right-leaning person in this country do it at all? I mean, seriously, why do you change the name of the opposing party when referring to them? I can't even begin to fathom a reason. (although I have to admit, it's a pretty useful signalling device for "someone I don't have to take seriously") You answered your own question. They only place I ever refer to the Democrat Party is on this board, and that's because it's guaranteed to get a response from you every single time. It's pretty amusing. You're like Elvado getting so worked up over the Lambeau Leap -- it's not worth the spike in your blood pressure. So every other conservative person in the country does this to personally rile me up? Weak. Is it that you personally have the maturity of an 11 year old, or your entire party in general?

I haven't watched the interview, but I can almost guarantee that speaking to the media, period, in this situation goes against the advice of counsel. Unfortunately, attorneys don't get to control their clients' behavior outside of the courtroom. If a narcissistic moron wants to sit down with Bob Costas, and won't listen to his attorneys' screams not to do so, then an interview happens, and the lawyers have to deal with any statements against interest provided in said interview. Costas had Sandusky's attorney in studio, while conducting the interview over the phone with Sandusky. And the attorney was on the Today Show this morning as well. Even weirder: Sandusky's lawyer impregnated a 16 year old ( link)

After listening to the Sandusky interview....guilty or not, he's a major CREEPER, that I wouldn't want within 5ft of my kids. He admitted on National television that he showered with boys, horsed around, and touched their "leg"...oh but not in a sexual way, to be clear. He also admits he shouldn't have showered with little boys. And when asked whether he was sexually attracted to young boys, he bumbled and stumbled about how he's attracted to young people, he enjoys being with them, oh but not sexually. Does anyone believe that crock of poop, really? And what lawyer let's their client admit to taking a shower with a little boy?? This whole business is shady, from the missing DA, to the Judge that released him on bail who was involved in the Second Mile Foundation and the police department who never filed charges after the first incident. The whole thing is like out of a Lifetime movie. My only reaction to that interview is that he's angling for ineffective counsel on appeal or something. Does anyone else have Penn State friends? Because I do, and they're all completely insane. I mean, do they even realize that the entire rest of the country think they're behaving deplorably?

Boz, I'm thinking you've never read a right wing blog or listened to Republican congressman. Seriously, the word "Democratic" doesn't exist in conservative lexicon anymore. Just because it's concerted childishness doesn't mean it's not childishness.
kchoya, you stop constantly being childish, and I'll stop constantly pointing it out. Deal?

I don't think McQueary's initial actions are as damning as some would say. Everyone likes to talk tough, but I feel the chances that I'd run out of the room and vomit are as high as beating up Sandusky if put in the same scenario.
No, where McQueary is really damned is the fact that he watched Sandusky continue to bring kids around to practices and games while he (McQueary) was coaching on the sidelines. I understand a paralyzed initial reaction, but after the shock wears off you should do something, not watch a predator court more victims right in front of your face.

This show is pretty damn sexist, huh? From what I understand, Andrea was a complete badass in the comics, and she's just a godawful human being in the TV show.

I believe the Supreme Court will rule Obamacare constitutional because it's merely another tax which the legislative process is allowed to do. Of course the Democrats, when pushing it through the process, were adamant it was not a new tax. Good thing intellectual honesty is not part of the Democrat party playbook. It's not part of the Repubic party's either. (see, I can be childish about your party's name, too)

After watching too many PSU fans try to justify JoePa's behavior. It got me thinking. Obviously people are upset because he's a big time coach of a winning program. If the team sucked or he was the head of the history department no way anyone cares enough to riot. It begs the question how we would react at Georgetown if became obvious JT3 or JT Jr. didn't do enough to protect children from being victimized on our campus by someone who reported into the basketball team? For me personally I don't care enough about basketball to think anyone should keep their job (or freedom!) after raping a child but do you think we'd see a similar reaction as PSU on our campus? This is separate enough to be worth a page or two, since it's a though exercise on GU's reaction. Paterno is not getting the reaction he's getting because he's the big time coach of a major program. He's not Nick Saban. His name is on the library. A flavor of ice cream is named after him. Students dressed up as him for football games. He's an icon. John Thompson III is not an icon. Given all that's going on, that might not be a bad thing. It's worth remembering that everyone, even our hero, is human and fully capable of making terrible mistakes. I see the PSU students embracing this crazy tautology: JoPa can't do anything wrong, so he didn't do anything wrong. I think it's great if we can avoid thinking that about anyone at GU (or really anywhere).

Now that the Board of Trustees has done their knee-jerk reaction, they have NO plan for the future. I will still be at the Beaver on saturday supporting the team, because the kids deserve it. As far as financial support, I will be with-holding it until I see what they are going to do and who fills the key positions. The media coveerage on this been absolutely terrible, especially trying to indicate the students were rioting. PSU is not UMCP and the students don't destroy where they live. "That TV van was flipped over when we got here."

Ok, I meant primary voters, not conservatives. Still, he's where the anti Romney vote is going next. Maybe it's time you give this Palin lady a second look. There's a real cut-off point here, though, right? At some point, you have to have your fundraising architecture, ground game, messaging, and all other campaign infrastructure in place, and I think that point was several months ago. The nominee is already running.

I have three points. One, Rick Perry is a terrible debater. Two, his performance tonight has to fatally damage his campaign, no? Three...uh...third...uh...

At this point, should we create a separate Walking Dead thread? Shane's decision is defensible somewhat, in that it was clear that they both weren't going to make it out, and Shane had the best chance of surviving. But yeah, that was freaking cold, man. Yeah, but the leg? So he's left alive? They woulda eaten him dead, too. Poor Otis. I don't believe they would have. Zombies like live flesh.

I buy a lot from iTunes as well, though I do the free download thing as well. I generally decide the buy/download question by whether the band is defunct or not.
I generally want something to point me to new (or at least new to me) music, so I listen to both Pandora and FM 94.9 in San Diego, which is IMO, the best radio station in the country.

The best thing is that Darrell is not even in the comics. That's what I kind of like about this series: the intentional decision to stray from the source material. There are some really big differences (Darrell, the CDC plot) and some smaller ones. It kind of makes it a different take on the story, but one by the same writer.
