In the interest of perpetuating bipartisan comity (per Boz), feel free to post fun internet stuff in this thread. My contribution: Auto-Tune the News

Good stuff. I assume you are not requiring it to have a political bent. Anyone in the area been to this coffee house: uncommon-priors.com/?p=2214

Filo - I lived in Mountain View and that place wasn't around when I was there. La Bamba (on Old Middlefield) was though and that place had the best Quesadillas and Burritos I've ever had.
Sigh...I miss Saturday morning roller-hockey at Netscape.

Anyone in the area been to this coffee house: uncommon-priors.com/?p=2214No, although I thought my piece was less about politics than it was about hip-hop recording techniques. In any case, that coffeehouse is atrocious, and Boz is right that these pics are right up the alley of passive aggressive notes.

In the spirit of the thread, and since a lot of people here are huge Arrested Development fans, what did everyone think about Sit Down, Shut Up last weekend, if you saw it?
Personally, I couldn't have been more disappointed.* I didn't even make it all the way through the episode. I'll give it a couple more chances, maybe, but it was really not funny at all, let alone funny in an Arrested Development sense.
Please don't let my question hijack the thread. By all means, continue to post fun links. But if you want to offer an opinion on the show too, well, I think that'd be OK.
(*obviously, expectations increase disappointment. I mean, if it was some new Eddie Murphy animated show and it sucked, I'd say, "well, OK that makes sense." But given the high hopes, they could not have been more dashed.)

I was gonna check it out on Hulu, but if you couldn't even finish watching it, that doesn't bode well.

I found Sit Down Shut Up far better than Parks and Recreation at least. I gave the latter two weeks and nothing. I at least laughed once or twice during Sit Down which is one or two more times than I did during Parks.

Agree, Cam. I've even adopted the Thunderhorse as my unofficial mascot.

The St. John's thread reminded me of a beverage of my (relative) youth, so I googled Thunderbird and ran into this somewhat amusing site. Its late Friday afternoon...it doesn't take too much to get me sidetracked from work... www.bumwine.com/

And now I am reminded of Red Dog and Red Wolf beers, in the early days of the craft brew revolution when Miller thought they could trick people into thinking the Plank Road Brewery was not just a thinly veiled arm of a corporate giant. Anybody up for a pitcher of Southpaw?

After scouring the bumwine.com site, I found this gem:
"AHHHH! GOOD TIMES WITH MD 20/20. I can remember the freshman dorms of Brewster/Boland at Syracuse University. Many a fridge filled with the "Beast" and MD 20/20. Thanks for the good times MD 20/20."
It explains so much...

Sadly a high number of younger talkboard members are guilty of imbibing MD 20/20 as well.

Sadly a high number of younger talkboard members are guilty of imbibing MD 20/20 as well. Really? The only consumption of 20/20 I remember was done in rare occurrences of mocking of high school years. It was like drinking Zima. Although, we always had some Boone's around for the ladies. We had some class.

Bartles & Jaymes was queen in the high school days. My best friend's dad worked for E&J Gallo (hence, the preference for Thunderbird) so they always had a stockpile. Only as a last, last resort would the menfolk indulge, but it was certainly a hit with the ladies.
Mad Dog was never big in HS or college (I transferred to G'town, so perhaps I missed out on that trend...)
