Put this in Dwayne Morgan's recruiting thread, but it belongs here as well.
Via Adam Zagoria's Twitter account:
Georgetown coach JT3 told Dwayne Morgan's mentor, Dwayne Wise, they wd alter their Princeton offense & include more isos if he committed

Their win over Miami is the reason why they were a 15 seed instead of a 16. They finished the season with 10 losses, didn't win the regular season title in the Atlantic Sun and had some absolutely atrocious losses on their resume.
We had a road paved with gold to the Sweet 16 and blew it.
Deal with it.

Friday Otto showed why he needs to stay. The thing about skipping AAU and playing in a small school league that lacked Div I level competition, the thing that is so easy to forget based on how mature Otto plays, is that he has only been playing serious, high level games for 2 years. Mythical games against the men in Morley, MO are all well and good, but Otto doesn't consistently respond well when pressured by tough kids who would gut him to win, strong men whose animosity isn't tempered by blood relations. He needs more strength before he will be ready to play at the next level. He has or is developing all the skills, abilities and attributes, but he does not have a complete, NBA level game yet. He also has consistently expressed his desire to be the best and I am certain Otto would be the first to tell you we did not see his best at championship time this year. Say all you will about money, etc, I don't care. Not everyone makes all their life decisions based on the ability to get paid now. You get better by playing against better players, and with his work ethic, he will improve exponentially at the next level because he will put in the time. If it was a matter of him being somewhat lazy and needing a coach to be on him all the time (John Henson needing Steve Robinson on his ass all the time is an example that comes to mind), then I would somewhat agree if improving his draft stock was the issue. However, Otto's game has a lot of polish to it already and he'll be a lottery pick. He should go and we should wish him well.

Well, their body of work for the entire regular season suggests that they are a double digit seed. However, they are on quite the run. 7 straight victories, won 17 of 21. That said, this is a team that lost to Mercer twice, Maine, East Tennessee State, Lipscomb twice and Stetson. Credit to FGCU for making the most of their opportunity. They are talented and athletic but also beatable. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so. I dunno they destroyed Miami. That alone should bump them up to a higher seed IMO. They also lost to Lipscomb (12-18) twice, Stetson (15-16), East Tennessee State (10-22), St. John's by 11, Duke by 21, VCU by 23 and didn't win the regular season championship in the Atlantic Sun conference. There was a reason they were a 15 seed. Seeing FGCU beat a bad SDSU team in no way makes me feel better about Georgetown's no-show on Friday. Not one bit whatsoever.

Who's Stein? And way, why do you only post after losses? He has posted exactly 4 times since we lost to NC State last year and 3 of them were about III's failures in recruiting or development of talent or lack of player intangibles. One was positive. Just another troll pushing their agenda. The word "troll" is being tossed around way too much on this board. You can disagree with what that man is saying, but to call it negative is ridiculous.

It's been said many times on here over the last 24 hours, but coaching reputations are made in March. It's the only reason why Brad Stevens and Shaka Smart are mentioned whenever a major head coaching position becomes available. Do you think Stevens would have even half the reputation he does if he simply led Butler to a few regular season titles in the Horizon conference and first round exits in the tournament year after year? Of course not.
From now until we next play a tournament game, any talk about Coach Thompson's accomplishments at Georgetown will be followed by a "but". He's won three regular season titles at Georgetown, but ... He was named Big East COY last season, but ... He led his 2007 team to the Final Four, but ... His reputation has undoubtedly taken a hit and it won't be repaired until his team shows up and is competitive the next time they appear in the tournament.
We're all pulling for him to get this thing figured out but making a public statement like this makes me think it's getting a little tight around his collar.

Strong guard-play helps you in the NCAA's. And now that we don't have NBA caliber frontcourts like we did during the Final Four run to mask the problem, we are getting exposed even more. I said it during the American game that the lack of an interior presence on offense would be the death of this team but it's still alarming how bad Hop and Lubick are on that end of the floor. We should destroy teams like FGCU in the paint, but we're at a disadvantage because anytime Lubick and Hop/Moses are in the game, we're essentially playing at a disadvantage because they offer nothing whatsoever on offense.

Playing with passion, doing a little showboating and committing foul that sends a message is not going to hurt anyone and III needs to start encouraging it. This uptight and no fun approach to basketball is not working. Thank you for proving my point about the type of cockroaches that come out of the woodwork after losses like this. JT3 should just show the team an And1 Mix tape before Midnight Madness and roll the ball out. Maybe we can have Nike deisgn an alternate Red jersey to bring in some Bloods as fans, too. You feel better about yourself now?

Two tournament wins over the last six years speaks volumes but the simple fact that I'm not surprised one bit about this loss speaks even louder. This is flat-out unacceptable and we can fool ourselves all we want about the status of this program, but if we were truly a big-time, we'd be 15 pages deep into a discussion about the next coach. However, we aren't, so we'll move on and act like we're something we're not. Start the discussion. Who do you think needs to be the coach at Georgetown? I assume you aren't suggesting we fire someone who has won 3 BE titles in 7 years without any replacement candidate in mind. To be perfectly honest, I don't know. However, my point is, if we were truly a big-time program, like many of us seem to believe, JTIII would've been on thin ice coming into this season and this game would've sealed it and we'd be knee deep into a discussion about his replacement. Big-time programs judge themselves by how they fair in the tournament, which is a season within a season and over the last SIX years, we've managed TWO wins combined. That is unacceptable, no matter how you slice it. We can keep on talking about going to a Final 4, but that seems like it happened a lifetime ago and that can't be a crutch every time someone brings up how bad this team has performed recently in the tournament. And yes, I remember where the program was before he took over and I don't care. He's been the coach of this basketball team for nine years and at some point, the whole, "So, you want to go back to the Esh years," argument is null.

The good kind.
Don't want to lead anyone on too much but from what I've been told, we're in VERY good shape.

IMHO, any first team without Otto and Victor Oladipo is flawed.
Olynyk and Burke I completely understand. Smart to an extent as well.

Is this what we have become? We are the better team. They have averaged 42.5 against us in 2 games. We should and will win. The pessimism surrounding this game is why this board is insufferable at times. We have no reason whatsoever to fear Syracuse. NONE!!!!!!! We're better than them and we've showed it. We could play them 100 times and I'd expect a win 100 times. We could get a 1 seed and get the winner of the Liberty-SWAC champion play-in game and people on here would find reasons to be afraid of them. Grow some.

I don't have a horse in this race, but I can completely understand how someone wouldn't like Morgan and feel like he was overrated.

Morgan finished with 7 points (3-15 FG, 1-7 FT), 7 rebounds and a block in 60-43 loss to Benedectine at Alhambra today.
