Anybody watching FGCU dumptruck the Aztecs? Maybe the problem is that the Committee always gives us drastically underseeded teams. FGCU is significantly better than Montana. That team is a 15. FGCU is athletic and has a specialty they know how to play to. Davidson and VCU went on big runs after they beat us too. Can we get some cupcakes, please?
At this point, you're getting ready to respond with any number of good rebuttals like "No matter how cohesive they are, we should be able to beat a >100 team." For my response to all rebuttals, please read the thread title.

Yeah, I think the FIRST call and change III needs to make is to the NCAA selection committee and ask them the next time they have a Davidson, a VCU or a FGCU - DO NOT GIVE THEM TO US!!!
Amazing, no way this team is a double digit seed. Unbeleivable athleticism and skill too

In all seriousness, wouldn't you agree that the four most memorable Cinderellas since George Mason are Davidson, VCU, Butler, and FGCU?

Holy crap. That team is really good. Davidson, VCU, now this bunch? Seriously not fair.
Nevertheless, it would have been nice to win ONE of those games.

I feel worse now personally. It's one thing to choke each year against bad teams that have no business beating you. It's another to choke against teams you probably deserved to avoid in the first place.

Amazing, no way this team is a double digit seed. Unbeleivable athleticism and skill too Well, their body of work for the entire regular season suggests that they are a double digit seed. However, they are on quite the run. 7 straight victories, won 17 of 21. That said, this is a team that lost to Mercer twice, Maine, East Tennessee State, Lipscomb twice and Stetson. Credit to FGCU for making the most of their opportunity. They are talented and athletic but also beatable. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so.

That alone should bump them up to a higher seed IMO.

No one is saying they are consistent, but a criteria for at large teams is the ability to win big games. That roster of players are not a 15 seed, period. FGCU's style also fits the tourney nicely, no thinking, just play. Somehow we attract the under-estimated team of the tournament, and it sucks. We should still win, but I give everyone a little more of a pass for Friday. SDSU knew exactly what they were getting and still could do nothing to stop that run FGCU had.

No excuse for losing but this team shouldn't have been a 15 seed.

A tiny bit. But it still stings badly. I'll feel better when Syracuse loses.

They also lost to St. John's. I'd like to see CBS do a piece on how these guys ever lost to those teams.

Had we found a way to beat them Friday night, nobody would be saying that FGCU should not have been a double digit seed.

But we deserved to play one of the eight worst teams in the tournament, not just any double-digit seed.

I put almost zero stock in games a team like FGCU plays on other team's home courts when I assess them. If we played FGCU at Verizon, where the Hoyas were 15-1, of course we would beat them, probably tomorrow if need be.
But, on a neutral court, that team is good enough to beat solid team and therefore should not have been a team we had to play. The beat down just put on SDSU (after what they did to us) was even more impressive by them.
