I'm calling the guy who said that transparency has no place in college sports a Penn State fan. There's a difference. I don't think III is being transparent when he says Whittington was suspended for breaking team rules. And using Ockham's Razor, and because I've read it in over 10 articles now, I'm thinking that the initial suspension was because of the same academic issues he's indefinitely suspended for here. Maybe that's giving reporters too much credit (and heaven knows after the T'eo thing no sports reporter deserves any) but they do get stuff on background and context we don't. JTIII has said which rule he was suspended for violating. How much more transparent can you get? Which class is it?

No we didn't, do you have a link to it? The pregame quotes I've found through Google News are less than a sentence. See the post game quotes

To me it seems like this is III making this call. To say what he said about the ability to come back is the most telling along with saying not living up to academic expectations is a violation of team rules. To me this sounds self imposed rather than NCAA. They wouldn't have handled the situation as they did otherwise

I have been as critical as anyone about DSR and full disclosure it has mostly been about my perceived negative "attitude" he had vs how he performed on the court thus far. That being said, I owe him an apology after tonight. I thought DSR had his best game tonight as a Hoya. Really competed tonight on both ends of the floor and made great decisions with the ball. Knocking down some shots definitely helped! I hope he builds off this performance because we really need him to do this every game. Well done DSR!

Damyean Dotson very well may be the 2nd best player Georgetown recruited last year behind Nerlens. Forgot about Dotson...also forget if he was seriously considering us or not. He's definitely a beast too. Personally think Warren would have had bigger impact for Hoyas

I think you proved my point. If that's the extent of your resume that says you're a good coach...you're probably not that good of a coach. 68–42, JT III's record at Princeton. I think you might be being a little harsh on Cooley, The SU fans that were at the Dunk said they had not seen PC play defense like that in years, and that was the same thing the SHU fans are saying on their board after Saturday's game. Don't let one poster represent Gtowns fan base. I think the consensus is Cooleys a very good coach and on the behalf of the Basketball7 we want/need provi to be good. Except for Wednesday of course

Would a big home win over Cuse at the end of the season at Verizon warrant a court rush? Last time playing them in the reg. season? If this was for a BE regular season championship sure. If it's to finish middle of the pack in the BE?? whyyyy??!! I really can't believe we're discussing this. Nothing says "your program hasn't made it" like an inappropriate court rush.

With the way gtown and Lville have played this season(they are thrashing UConn on the road), we might be bigger underdogs against Lville this year then we were against duke in 2006.... Doesn't matter. The fact that this was even brought up as an option disgusts me. (Haha, but seriously)

Question for Jersey residents or those in the know. Seems like alot o his teams scores are blow outs. Is the competition not very good? Is he putting up big numbers against inferior competition? Just curious

I sincerely hope they are able to put lights in for the field. Fox obviously runs Fox Soccer channel which televises college soccer games every Friday evening. We've never been able to participate for a home game since we don't have lights. I know the neighbors have complained about light pollution, but I really don't think lights there would be a nuisance. They have tried to put lights up for years but have gotten shut down by the neighbors (shocker)!! Maybe something's changed but do u really think so? IIRC they want to make a more permanent structure (those are temporary bleachers rented like for the *gulp dare I say? MSF....) with bleachers and locker rooms and an actual ticket gate. Lockerrooms being the most urgent as they currently have to trek down to McDonough so they have them in tents at halftime. Not ideal

If UCONN and Cinci are on our side I think we could basically do anything vote wise (i.e. dissolve the league and start next year without any penalty whatsoever). EXACTLY!!! Hell even Memphis may see the light

finally coming to their senses. Makes more sense to let Uconn in than Cinci. But again this is NOT a bad scenario at all. So what if they leave for the ACC in a few years. That's 2 teams easily backfilled as the article says. I get people not wanting football schools, but this is a situation where bball rules the day and football has no say. 2 teams leaving theoretically...and I (maybe naively perhaps), think UConn will get way more money doing things this way. And hey...more exit money for the BASKETBALL7 if they do
Now THAT is a major basketball league.
Still hope creighton is that last team though instead of st. louis

Someone asked about how the Athletics Department spent the money it has raised to date (or intends to spend it). A good chunk of it is annual donations (like annual Hoop Club donations) that are spent on annual operations. Other -- non-annual -- gifts are given for targeted purposes (like the recent updgrade of the soccer facility). So, it's not like the Department has a slush fund of new money to start work on the IAC or can rob Peter to pay Paul. Rather, they have to raise money for the IAC itself. I mean of course....and it's not like this money has all been collected, but our operating budget cannot possibly be 60 million dollars a year for athletics can it? Granted I'm looking at this with Blue and Grey Basketball/Ath dept in general glasses, but can we afford to wait for 5 years to raise all this money? I say no... I remember seeing we needed to raise half before the shovel got in the ground. How much of that 60 mil is slated to go to the IAC. What is the actual final cost?
