This team will do better because it will have more talent and play together more. Not because of K. Dwight Howard and Stoudemire absolutely make my team, but would you want a more shooting oriented big man like Brad Miller? I have the feeling Brad Miller will be there regardless because I don't think Shaq is going to play.

Redd won't play this summer because he's getting married, but he has gotten the same exemption Chauncey Billups received.
I'm interested to see the big men they put on the team. They'll be really young in the frontcourt.

I still think Billups makes the team. I think he's excused from this summer...at least that's the last I heard. He really would be a perfect player for the international game. Great shooter and leader. Paul is going to be great by '08. You have to look out 2 years as well on some of these picks. Duhon...he he he...I hear that William Avery is looking for work too ;D I know Billups is going to play in '08. I was just referencing this summer I just have a feeling 1/4 of the team this summerwill have gone to Duke. Duhon, Elton Brand and Redick. Coach K is going to go with guys he feels comfortable with

Again, I LOVE Iverson and I'd probably put him on the team for defense and other intangibles, but I do understand not putting him on. Other countries just sluff back and play zone against us which completely takes away the best parts of Iverson's game. It's really not a knock on Allen, but more a style of play issue. He dominates the ball and that kills you in the international game. I really think our biggest problem in the Olympics is going to be the PG position. Who is our starter? Kidd is old and hurt (and he can't shoot either). The only real options are Billups and...I guess Chris Paul. This just points out again the utter lack of quality PGs in the US that make a team better. Interesting issue that will only get worse. Mike Bibby may have the style of play that works, but he's a little streaky. I'd go with Billups as the starter and then Paul off the bench. Tough. Billups can't play this summer though and that makes it worst. The PGs are going to be Paul and Chris Duhon probably.

I mean if you're going to invite 25 guys to a camp, why can't you invite Allen Iverson? That just doesn't make any sense to me. They invited Carmelo (Boeheim's fault) and not AI? Come on now. If Iverson wasn't in Athens the result would've been MUCH worst.

if we get a top 5 seed and the conference only gets 8 teams in, we're probably either gonna be in the Oakland or Atlanta region. That just depends on what the committee does with the bracket.

Seeds 1-5 have protection in the first round. Meaning that if Georgetown were to get a 5 seed...they wouldn't be made to play BYU in Salt Lake City for instance.
However in the second round, those seeds will not be protected. In 2004, Pittsburgh as a 3 seed had to play the 6-seeded Wisconsin Bagers in Milwaukee.
In 2002, Mississippi St as a 3 seed had to ply the 6-seeded Texas Longhorns in Dallas.
They try to keep you as close to home as possible, but somebody is going to be upset about that cross country trip to San Diego.

are the placement of seeds in specific cities at all perdicatable? on bracketology lunardi has the Oakland & Dallas regions' 5 seeds playing in san diego, i think we will be a 5 seed and that would give me a 50% chance of seeing the hoyas the first weekend out west. i dont think those things are set ahead of time though, can anyone confirm this for me? does San Diego know they are getting the 5 vs 12 games? San Diego doesn't know that they are getting 5 vs 12 games but it's a pretty good bet right now. Teams get rewarded by their seeding and because their is a void of top teams out west...San Diego is going to see 4 vs 13/5 vs 12 games.

OAK - #1 Memphis, #2 Texas, #3 GW, #4 Kansas, #5 Gtown - - - - In this group we very well could be the best of the bunch. Kansas is young, GW (do I even have to put a comment), Texas is inconsistent at best, and Memphis is solid but young and unproven. Due to seeding restrictions, this bracket isn't possible. Two teams from the same conference can't be placed in the same region if they're 1-4 seeds. Kansas has gotta go.

Bridge, I wouldn't say delusional. I think we get a 2, so we're talking maybe only a 3 RPI spot difference. Your numbers are right, I just can't think of any 1 seeds that had 7 losses. I think that is just too many losses to get a 1 seed. I'd love it if we end up with this question answered. I think we'd both be ecstatic, regardless of who wins. dTRAIN Michigan St had 7 losses in 2000.

That friggin' Mike Nardi can shoot. Not really enthused about the possibility of having to play either one of these two again. If we make it to the Semi's of the BET it's almost certain that that's going to happen.

Well...also as a non-alum, it is very disturbing that in some cases there's going to be a lot of fans from opposing schools at the game. Yesterday was my 3rd 'Cuse/Georgetown game and I pretty much expected the turnout from the Orange. So definitely, an on-campus arena would be a huge boost to the success for the program. It would give us a greater home court advantage and it would definitely help in recruiting.
However, I'm selfish and an on-campus arena is going to make it very difficult for me to be able to go to games. I think an on-campus arena is necessary though.

On the train ride home from the game...some little kid (I'm guessing he was about 9 or 10) dressed in Syracuse colors was crying his heart out because the Cuse just lost while his dad tried to console him. G-Mac was riding Metro? LOL

Maybe it's a bit insensitive...but it's Syracuse

It's a shame that Cincy hasn't inked Andy Kennedy to a full-term contract; he has done a heck of a job with the mess he inherited. I'll really be surprised if he gets that job full-time.
