You guys keep saying Brumbaugh is good. I don’t see it. Hopefully, the kid prove me wrong. I didn't think I would see lazy cross-court passes anymore. Can't fathom why that is happening.

Clearly a two-steps backward game. This team does not value the ball and so many of the ball handlers seem to lack court awareness as they make careless passes to closely guarded teammates. The team will struggle to win another game if it cannot cure the maddening TOs and start making FTs—14 misses from the FT line and 66% overall. I know that Cook is a beast but I do not see that he can contribute enough on either end of the court to warrant his minutes. He either cannot shoot other than put backs or will not shoot and his FT shooting is very poor. I honestly don’t see a major contribution on defense either. Maybe it’s time to go small using Massoud and Fielder. Neither is a post but both offer the opportunity to contribute on offense. Still see the coaching going on as a positive and loved the benching of the starters to kickstart this team, but really have to question the skill set of these players. It could be a very long year. Taking care of the ball, plus Supreme and Heath, were my biggest issues today. Hearing them trumpet Supreme as a rebounding juggernaut as the 4th leading rebounder in the BE was comical.

The Merrimack player that got the rebound and missed the first layup at the end? He ran free and clear from the top of the key because Heath didn't box him out. Heath is extremely poor fundamentally. There’s a reason he’s never been on a winning team. It doesn't happen often but the clock is broken today. He was difficult to watch tonight. Thankfully he hit his 2 FTs late.

I’m not at all convinced we’re better than the past two years. We are clearly better coached. It isn't even close. Not happy with every game as a nail biter but I don't see how someone can watch and think otherwise. This season will be difficult. Let's see how things go next year - and that means keeping players from this year's team as well.

Still don't value the ball. Difficult to understand.

I'm hoping the Hoyas get off to a great start, up by 20 at the half and Cooley starts second half in a zone with Ryan under the basket. Stay with it for at least 6-7 minutes. Let's really use these cupcake games to work on learning how to play zone and also give Ryan a chance to develop his game. Would rather see Supreme focus on angles, positioning and the like as he will see the overwhelming majority of the minutes come BE time. He has to learn how to effectively rebound.

Austin Freeman had a 33 point day against UConn on 2010 to erase a 19 point deficit. That one sticks out to me still. What a game this was and what a wild finish. Cap One (then Verizon Center) was rocking. Was at that one as well!

The most incredible comeback from Hoyas I have seen in my 44 years watching them. Jayden Epps and this team didn’t quit. I am so proud of you guys Hoyas so proud of this win. Great win go Hoyas!!!! 2007 Elite Eight has nothing on this. God that was fun. Best sporting event for me ever. And I've been lucky enough to attend some fun ones.

I agree with that. And now he's up to 5 turnovers. And Brumbaugh back in the game. Epps dad yelling at him after turnovers. Didn't get to see the game but laughed out loud when I read this.

This is a very winnable game for the Hoyas. Rutgers is KenPom #72, right behind a Wake Forest team (#71) that Epps lit up in a scrimmage and ahead of a St. John's team (#74) that a lot of people on this board think is garbage. While Rutgers has some size, it's not clear that the size it has is any good. Best player is probably freshman Gavin Griffiths. Coach Pikiell has never won anything of note and should be no match for Coach Cooley. I predicted a Hoyas 8-point victory but feels like it could be even more than that. The most predictable pre-game post finally arrives.

I don't know what anyone is worried about regarding our front court. Paul Westhead would be proud. Supreme averaged 131 points last year.

Q will not be able to play the Brandon Johns role for Mike Rhoades at Penn State.

Just saw (as per Tipton), Jalen DeLoach's recruitment is open again. He was down to a 6 school list. I hope Cooley can get in on him. G'Town was listed as making contact with him earlier. Of course, everything with G'Town seems to be reliant on what happens with Dickinson at this point. I have this strange feeling where it's worrying that other Big East teams are signing guys and loading up, and we've been quiet for a week now. But I also am 99% sure Cooley has some good stuff coming down the pipeline here, and we just need to be patient. 100% agree. Love his game and his fire.

If the Rams can't keep him, I would LOVE to see DeLoach on the Hilltop. I think DeLoach, if he leaves VCU, is likely to follow Rhoades and Baldwin to Penn State. I agree, but I would still love to see him here. Doesn't have as much history with MR as Ace does. My preference is for him to stay at VCU though.
