Another transfer.....what else is new? I was viewing my Hoya media guides and it's amazing how many incoming freshmen never become seniors.

I wish Jerrelle Benimon. One of my favorite Hoyas of recent memory. Seriously? I give you that the guy hustled, but to what end? That's like saying Mark Madsen was one your favorite Lakers of recent memory. Best of luck to JB. And as for the Mad Dog, he was my favorite dancing Laker since Dancing Barry.

It happens at every program. Kids aren't patient anymore. We live in a now society. I know a few division 1 coaches who prey on big time programs hoping someone will transfer. Look at the list, nobody is immune to it. All of our transfers are due to a lack of playing time or serious competition for PT. When we lose starters than I'm worried.

And as for the Mad Dog, he was my favorite dancing Laker since Dancing Barry. I agree about Madsen. Also, i think in this day and age, folks base everything on fantasy league statistics, and throw guys under the bus who fall short in box scores, but still provide a significant role to a team's success. Whether it be a practice player, playing spots minutes to give the stars a breather, etc. For every Ewing, Floyd, Iverson and Mourning we had over the years, there were the Don Reid's, Boubacar Aw's, Ya Ya Dia's, Victor Samnic, Tyler Crawford's, etc. of the world that gave something to significant to the program.

Maybe Vee can stay now. I still think he can play. We are very thin in the back court. only 2 returning guards.

Don Reid is one of my all time favorites and was before he was a starter. Why, however, me and my roommates called him Cowboy Don Reid, I have no idea. Same goes for Jahidi. JYD was always a starter but another all time favorite. I can't say that JB makes my all time favorite list but I sure do respect the effort he gave every time he hit the floor. Best of luck to him. I hope he finds a situation that suits him well.

I truly wish JB the best of luck in the future. Always a hard worker, he earned every minute he got.

To be serious though, are Vee, Hollis and Bennimon friends? I remember Bennimon tweeting something when Vee left.
I can see this go two ways. Timing wise this move seems to hinge on Hollis' NBA draft decision.
So it's possible that Hollis is staying in the draft, told Bennimon and Bennimon decided to leave too.
Or
Hollis is coming back, told Bennimon and Bennimon decided to leave because he won't get playing time.

Should've said this in the initial post, but I wanted to get it up before running into a meeting: Benimon got a lot of grief from Hoya fans, and while he wasn't the player I or other people wanted him to be, I felt like we always got his best effort. Best of luck to Jerrelle wherever he ends up, and I hope he ends up in a great situation for him.

that or they're completely unrelated. We shall see. Either way losing Bennimon is like gaining a McDonalds All American recruit.

Honestly this is great news for everyone. Im sure Benemon was a great guy but he has no game. I hope he goes to a nice Division three program like worcester state and becomes a beast. Thanks for the memories... Seriously, no one can tell the difference between you and the average Husky fan.

seems like a good kid and gave effort on the court but we played 4 on 5 offensively when he was on the floor and IMO he didn't make enough of an impact on the boards or defensively to make up for it. addition by subtraction.

Seemed like a good guy. Worked hard, gave the effort, but just couldn't do a lot of the things we needed him to do (like play offense). I think all the criticism that came on this board was 100% fair, given what he did on the court, but now that he's leaving, there's no reason to bad-mouth him. I never like when kids make it public that they'd rather be somewhere else than Georgetown, even when those kids are under-performing athletes, but I'm getting used to it. Good luck to him.
What's next?

Good luck to him, he worked hard and caught a lot of flack because he was overmatched on the court in BE play.
However...All this talk of his great attitude, i'm not so sure. Friend of mine is senior this year said the guy was a jerk.
if this is speculation or not allowed, apologies.
