I'm not sure how you blame the Dozier thing on Calipari. He (or someone else) took the SATs so he could play at Georgia, but they didn't accept it. He (again, or someone else) took the SATs again while he was intending to play at Georgia, and ultimately Georgia decided they didn't want him. The NCAA deemed the SATs good enough and Dozier eligible. Were you expecting Calipari of all people to go above and beyond NCAA regulations? The suggestion that this was orchestrated by Calipari seems a little ludicrous to me. That article clearly shows that Dozier cheated on the SAT to get into MEMPHIS NOT UGA. He only switched to UGA later, but UGA flagged him so he ended up at the school he originally cheated to get into: MEMPHIS. So the answer is YES, Calishadi is repsonsible for Dozier also. Sniff Sniff... anyone smell a pattern Yeah, I typed it up too quickly to recant; I wanted to do that in a longer post (this one). I'm still not sure Calipari is responsible for this. Someone experienced in these dealings probably wouldn't tell Dozier "Hey, you're an awful student with awful standardized test scores... go out and find someone who scored in the 80th percentile on the SAT." The article suggests that had he been accepted to Georgia, he would have been able to play with a C- average in college prep courses and a 720 SAT get to play basketball? If you have a 720 SAT, you need a 2.750 to be eligible. Clearly college prep courses played a VERY minor part of Dozier's high school curriculum. Which brings me to my final point. Robert Dozier has had an SAT score invalidated, which leads him to a prep school that the NCAA now says doesn't count, which leads him to Memphis and an official NCAA investigation. Wow! What a guy.

Well one things is for sure, I will be laughing at the first 2010 player that is foolish enough to commit to either memphis or kentucky. ---wait we've got a winner--Barton Brothers Step on DOWN--you've just been bought by the "Price's Right". ;D

To add to this issue--it's getting UGLY between Memphis/Pastner and Calipari which is funny because both are scumballs. Pastner is throwing Calipari under the bus. ;D Quote from Will Barton:
Recently in an interview Will Barton a recruit of Memphis stated "He told me it wasn't so much a Memphis issue but a Calipari issue." Barton was told this by former Calipari assistant and know Memphis Head Coach Josh Pastner while inquireing about the NCAA troubles occuring at Memphis.

Nothing would make me happier than if the NCAA pillaged both Memphis and UK, and Calipari ended up blacklisted from college basketball. Same here. It wont happen and Cal will live another day. I wonder if tying the AD in with this kind of stuff would help to prevent schools from hiring shady coaches. Like if they AD was punished as well as the school and coach (more so than losing their job, which probably doesnt happen as much as it should). Of course their are all sorts of reasons why people at the schools and NCAA wouldnt let that happen, but it could help.

C'mon cut the kid some slack. What makes for a funnier photo than you and your friends flashing gang signs? Pure comedy. And he doesn't look at all stoned in that photo. Additionally, I think that's a picture of a brussel sprout on his shirt.

I believe that the new coaching staff will recruit the home town more than the former staff. There are enough quality athletes in Memphis and and West Tennessee to maintain a top 10 -20 program. Hopefully the Hoyas will go down and get one or two.

Looks like Calipari may have to make more room on the Kentucky roster (ie, rescind scholarships for existing players) for the Henry brothers, who might be backing out of their non-binding commitment to Kansas to work, er, play for Cal in Lexington: sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/news/story?id=4298168Good to see that Kentucky pays as well as Memphis did.

This is outrageous. Kentucky's not even trying to pretend like these guys have any real connection to the university outside of basketball. Really, is winning that important?

I know it's the only thing that matters to 90% of their fanbase who have no connection to the school. But, I wonder what the other 10% think.

While at Statesville Christian (N.C.), he took the ACT for the first time and received a score that was on a verge of qualifying. He took it again, the score jumped significantly and it was flagged.
Florida, where he was committed to at the time, said he had to take it a third time in order to be admitted. His third score was slightly higher than the first one, but was still thrown out because it wasn’t high enough.
Florida deemed him inadmissible and he wound up qualifying to play at Memphis – where his third test score was admissible.
That means that three of the top six scorers from John Calipari's team last season have question marks with their test scores.
Half of Slimy's high scorers on the court had highly questioned scores off the court. Imagine that.
One point of question: since his 3rd score wasn't "high enough" for Florida but was ok at Memphis, then we can presume that the University of Florida has higher admission standards in addtion to more stringent investigations into admission scores. I, for one, already knew that.
