Gotta be Derrick Rose, no? Any other freshman on the team then?

Well, there were no other freshmen who were in the tourney in 2008 and not in 2009.

It is not like they needed Rose to make the Final Four. NCAA has to be secretly thrilled Kansas pulled it out. Would be hard to strip a team of a National Title.

so basically they cheated on Rose's SATs so that he'd be eligible when everyone involved understood he'd be one and done?
Disgusting.

It is not like they needed Rose to make the Final Four. NCAA has to be secretly thrilled Kansas pulled it out. Would be hard to strip a team of a National Title. Rose was the best player in the country at the end of the year. They would have been a shadow of the team they were without him. If this story is true, it is another black eye for college basketball. Have fun, Kentucky. This will be your fate in five to seven years (or less).

Gasp! What a shock. It is interesting that this is now the second time that a Calipari program has been hit with major violations just after he leaves town. Maybe the best Kentucky can hope for is that he never leaves? Otherwise, they've committed record-setting money to a coach who has delivered two schools to NCAA violations and zero NCAA titles. Link to Memphis Commercial Appeal, which broke the story: www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/may/27/ncaa-alleges-major-violations-memphis-basketball-p/

Latavious, you have chosen...poorly. I was thinking just the opposite actually. He needs a qualifying score, and they seem quite skilled at making it happen...

"It is also alleged that Memphis provided $2,260 in free travel to road games for an associate of a player."
An associate of the player, you mean like a schoolyard chum? Or a professional who gets to skim a little bit off the top of the billions that the NCAA and its member schools make from student-athleticism... With so much money changing hands, does anyone really miss a couple grand?

Let's see, whenever:
1. Calipari goes to Final Four--the school gets drilled with probation and they have to void the season.
2. Calipari isn't there as he BOLTS out the exit door for greener pastures
3. Memphis is a SCUM PROGRAM where they ALWAYS CHEAT when they are good--Dana Kirk, Larry Finch, and now Calipari. What a shocker they are in trouble--again.
BTW--what if the NCAA actually did their job nailed how Fed Ex funds the damn program?

The NCAA killed Todd Bozeman, Kelvin Sampson, and eventually Jim Harrick, lets see if they kill a repeat offender like calipari. Well Larry Brown left ucla and kansas under probation. The turd does not fall far from the horses behind.

Should Latavious decide to decommit, b/c i dont think he signed officially, do the Hoyas get back involved as the logical backup for him? I know pride says you dont wanna be a second choice, but at the same time...

I got this from someone else. Soon to be a trivia question: Who is the only college coach to have Final Four appearances vacated at two schools?
