I think you could make a better argument that someone like Lance might be attracted by adding to what hasn't been done. For instance, some kids like going to a place that is set or won a title recently--and others like going somewhere and making their mark--if a kid like Stephenson joined Hoya program and contributed to a National title--which ironically would be 25 years from the last time they played for a National Title--it would be legendary. Now don't get me wrong--any great player wants to be surrounded by great players--but that case is already proven by Moe's post--look at the roster he'd be joining--and being conservative-the '10 Hoya team is going to be a preseason top 5 team--if not higher. I think it's got a chance to be the best Hoya team in terms of depth/talent that we've seen since '89--(this year's would've been if Jeff stayed) and that is without someone like Stephenson/McDonald--with someone like that--and I prefer Lance over McDonald in terms of all around game--that is a SCARY TEAM.

Last time I checked you almost have full turnover in 3 years, which last time I checked would make you almost a completely different team. I assume that this comment was in response to redskins comment regarding UCLA. Keep in mind that we are going to have only two players (Jessie and Dajuan) next year who played on the final four team. We've undergone a little turnover ourselves.

That I know. I wasn't the one talking about the past, though. I was strictly talking about our future team.

it's hard to argue that ucla is soft with three FFs in a row and a clearly elite, hard-nosed defensive system. they still have lacked the elite offensive players to get over the hump. afflalo, josh shipp and collison are not chris douglas roberts, derrick rose, or sherron collins.
i fully agree that unc is soft and will remain soft as long as roy is the coach. he just doesn't do defense and the acc looks to continue to be an average conference. there were numerous games this year where roy subbed out all the starters after 4-5 minutes b/c they were getting whupped by some elite acc team like bc or virginia tech. the only reason their defensive efficiency is moderately high is because they have had great defensive rebounding. the '05 carolina team had a sick amount of talent (read = recruiting) with four players going in the first 15 picks of that draft. esh could have won a national championship with that roster.
if stephenson wants an NC, carolina def ain't the place.

Lets get this thread back on track and try to keep it that way.
Lance played in the North Carolina Tourney this weekend. He played solid. He was really playing unselfish ball and getting the rock to his teammates. His jumper was not falling, as he would fade back from his shot and was not keeping good balance. But over-all he played fine.
BTW. THis is that vid of Lance and Mayo, when Lance was in 8th grade:

I've seen this video.... didn't realize Lance was only in 8th grade...wow. Balla...bring this kid to Georgetown please!! Watching Stephenson reminds me of what Big John said when he went to Cambridge Latin Ridge to watch a recruit play when he noticed this other kid named Ewing on the court. Thompson said, "Get me that. Get me him and we win a championship with that kid". I kinda feel the way when watching Lance.

8th grade.... that's sick. I'm sitting here thinking that I'm in my 30's and I'll never be that good at ANYTHING. I'm only wondering where Mayo's shooting touch went since then.

Hoya fans should not get to excited about Lance eventually being a Hoya. III luvs the kid, but World Wide Wes is trying to get involved in Lance's recruitment. Gtown will never play that game, so at the end of the day I expect Lance to end up at memphis. It is funny how Wes and Calipari were sitting in the exact same seats during the Boston and Cleveland series. Guess the NCAA did not notice one of biggest street agents and one of the most corrupt coaches

I'm still going to wait and see with Lance---Worldwide Wes is going to eventually get Memphis in trouble--and in all honesty--we'll know whether Georgetown is a serious contender or not in his recruitment after the week he spends trying out for the Team USA team.
Besides--if Lance wants to play for a championship contender--the Hoyas won't take a backseat to any roster in '10--that Georgetown team is going to be LOADED.

If we've learned anything from the OJ Mayo scandal, World Wide Wes can sleep soundly for many years to come. Hope there's not too much to this.. Will wait to see what happens during the Team USA tryouts.

Well, Wes has been in Calipari's locker room more than Guillroy was in Tim Floyd's office . Ironically enough, Wes is now trying represent Mayo ;D

Yeah, from what I saw of Lance in his documentary, he seemed like a good kid. This will at least keep me waiting for his official decision, but your info is appreciated, balla.
