Lance's dad must have attended some old Gtown practices when Pops coached ;D And yes, the athletic director

I know it's not all that likely but imagine this lineup the year after next: PG: Wright, Rivers SG: Freeman, Clark 3G/SF: Stephenson, Thompson PF: Monroe, Sims C: Braswell, Macklin, RowleyorRiley Lance is a one and done barring something unforseen (age limit change, injury etc)... But they say one and dones are good if they can be the guy to give your team that bush over the top. There is no doubt that that lineup, WITHOUT Lance, has the nucleus to compete for a national title. WITH him, yea, that just might be enough to push us over the top if everyone stayed healthy. On top of that, landing Lance would be great because it would a) give us some more play in the NYC market (good for marketing) and b)would give us a player who is likely going to excel in the NBA, which means that more young players will aspire to be like Lance and want to go to Georgetown as a result (this has happened with a lot of players over the years but a good recent example is Carmelo and the loads of kids who have wanted to play for a grumpy old man at a school in icy cold northern NY just because Anthony did it). What would you think would be more valuable for that team, a senior DaJuan or a freshman Lance?

Hmmm... under your scenario, did Summers have a good or a bad junior season?

I hate to say it, but probably a freshman Lance either way. I mean, just watch some of his clips, the kid is disgusting good, and I don't even think the kid is a selfish player, either. He seems to make the right plays. I don't understand how Sidney and Favors are ranked above him (admittedly not having seen either one of them play).
He takes it to the basket strong and finishes, but what may be deadlier about Lance's game is his step back jumper, which seems almost unstoppable, so if you can stop him off the dribble, it doesn't really matter, he'll go over you. His jumper is smooth and developed as it is, so it's only going to get even better when he steps onto a college campus. He's a great passer, too, which is something that deserves to be mentioned, demonstrated by that crazy over the back pass he made that was mentioned by RDF. Lance seems to fight pretty hard for positioning while rebounding, and seems to have a knack at getting the offensive board for a putback/tip slam. Then there's the fact that he already has some gifted handles.
I mean, the kid could easily go pro if it wasn't for the restriction. Obviously, if Lance wanted to come to Georgetown, we'd have to keep a scholarship open for him. I dunno, though, that would make two scholarships going to two SFs in the same year. I think everyone would be quite satisfied, though.

From what I've seen of Lance, I'd say Lance. And I'm pretty known to support current players who have "cut it" over hyped recruits but.... this kid is that good.

In college Lance can play 1,2, and 3. He is mainly a 2 though. But has the strength and skill to play wherever.
The future Gtown teams will look different from the last few teams that people have seen under III. There will be a team of ballers. It will not be about defined positions so much, as interchangeable parts that can do everything. This will also allow for more depth, which will enable Gtown to overcome the 5 against 8 that will happen in the tourny...

Because they both are the type that will anchor whatever programs they choose. They will both come in and have big time freshmen seasons and be the best players on their teams. Favors is the closest thing to Amare Stoudemire I've seen and Sidney might have the best combination and skill and athleticism I've seen in the past few classes.

Also, there's an article on Scout.com saying that the #2 and #3 (Lance) recruits in 2009 might want to go to the same school together, and something about UCLA. Although I'm sure it's nothing that great, could anyone who has the oh greatest of knowledge let us plebeians have a morsel of it?

Lance was in LA playing on Renaldo Sydny's AAU team this past weekend. Lance visited ucla so the obvious questions and hype start up. There is a 5% chance Lance and Sydney end up at ucla. Lance also visited Venice Beach, Roscoe's(had grits and turkey sausage), Aunt Kizzy's later for some sweet ice tea... Most of the schools that Lance will be visiting are addidas schools except Gtown and UNC.

That is questionable judgment , but I have always found their waffles to be a bit dry ;D Plus Lance could stand to shed a few pounds.

In any event, I've been impressed with your recruiting acumen, but you've taken it to a whole new level by demonstrating knowledge of a kid's culinary preferences.

Lantz is a cool name. Not exactly George Formanesque, but cool nonetheless.
As for Lance he can just flat out do everything. Ironically for a kid that hyped, his biggest strengths are his passing and desire to win as a team. He can play without the ball and can dominate the game without shooting. He will rebound, defend and pass all day.
He needs to improve his lateral quicks, because quicker guards sometimes get by him.
He needs to stop fading on normal jump-shot.
I was joking about the food stuff, but he does need to lose the pudge and get leaner. NBA scouts hate pudgy guards. So if Lance is already pudgy in HS, that does not bold well for college and the league...
BTW, Freeman and Sapp also need to get a lot leaner.
