He makes perfect sense for any team that wants to win.
But I thought we wanted to win, that's why we poached Cooley from within our own conference and are paying him $5-$6M/year. I thought Hunter's deep admiration for Cooley and our two wealthy NIL guys were supposed to deliver him to the Hilltop. What's going on here? So wait - it is senseless that wealthy NIL guys will pay big money to get a player to their favorite school - but it is a negative that they won't outbid every other school to get him? Pick a lane and stay in it boya. Trying to degrade Cooley from both sides of the issue is not up to your usual standard😉 |

Since NIL is basically turning into "salary" with no requirements for the player to provide any endorsement, appearance or personal service other than playing basketball, how long before the NCAA attempt to limit transfers is challenged as "restraint of trade"?

Brandon absolutely has ability. He needs work, focus and control to maximize it, and make himself money down the road. If Coach Cooley can be convinced that Brandon will do the work he may want him to stay. If Brandon is willing to do that work he may want to stay.

RT must not be feeling too good about himself these days. I am trying to have some empathy for him….but it isn’t easy. RT was COS of a staff that won 2 BE games the last two seasons, he needs to be fired along with every other staff member. If JT3 & PE can be fired why not RT? Not to mention the multiple reports of the toxic environment he helped create. He should have the same involvement as all other former players. But no more. |

Excited about the future. Of course there is no guarantee Coach Cooley will be hugely successful, but there is great hope.
Been a Hoya fan for almost 45 years, and on this board since the start. The last 2 years have been brutal both here and on the court. I have rarely posted because there has been little to say. I have always watched every game for 40 minutes; this year I would watch until we were 10 points behind, then fast forward the broadcast 15 minutes at a time to see if we made it close (we never did). Now I can't wait for November to come once again!

Give boya credit for consistency. He is not a Cooley fan by any stretch, can't blame him for not reversing course just because GU hired him. One of the best things about sports is that the truth is measured by results. So we will know whether Cooley was a successful hire.
