patience is key - Hurley had zero tournament wins through 4 years and even his teams prior were not great offenses. personnel matters too - he found a good mix of players, his 5th and 6th years. Hopefully Cooley and his overall rep can make it a faster timeline.

I agree with this. By eye test St John's did not look great against some pretty bad teams (overall)..thats not a criteria but it doesn't scream to me that they warranted inclusion from an absolute basis (if not relative basis).
The teams excluded had 1) less than compelling non conference SOS and 2) not enough quantity of top level wins (or some combo) of those 2.
We may want different criteria but I would say there was some consistency

Want Jay heath to contribute more, if we can get him going so much better for team. He shot 44% when in pac 12 and 44% on 3s there, but is now shooting 32% in BE games and 31% from 3. For a fifth year guy its just surprising he has had a fall off despite not being surrounded by the best talent. It seems he has one of the few upsides for this team left (along with maybe Fielder improving/getting impact) but just getting him back to who he was / not making mistakes ( 19 assists vs 15 turnovers) would help a lot.

Man, Aminu really needed to stay in school. I can see at the time he maybe was worried about his skills being scrutinized by staying, but he can't even hang it in the G league now. He could have been a great contributor as a Hoya, even if he never became a star, and maybe some NIL money. No shame in that.

The waitlist is misleading, the tour is by default for only a small group, knowing the facotry, while the major events are held in the hotel. So I wouldnt take that as a reflection of interest.
Obviously it was well-attended / received.
Agree with it being a first class event that is undermarketed (ie, social channels) to the younger alums. part of that is intentional, a lot of the events are meant in appreciation for those in fundraising roles that are older and about to leave a legacy. But there are plenty of ways to combine seeing a city with its programmed events that appeal to a broader base with its speakers and unique access. Chimes Night, brewery, behind the scenes of the ballpark, tour of ansel adams exhibit, kara swisher live podcast, etc
The swag bags are great too, some Hoya wine included of course.
Dublin is next year, and if you can get a group of Hoyas together, great reunion + sightseeing event excuse !

can i just always have hart as a hoya in my mind:)
that white /copeland/ peak class should have been closer to bridges/brunson/hart. what could have been.
Last day of season is weird. Warriors set the all time mark for points scored in 1st quarter. and the Gleaguers against those starters looked awful. Yurt is still a good O player but i think had 5-6 fouls, still what he has to resolve.
McClung though led his team in scoring en route to G league championship, put up 20-9-9 in regular season last game. He is going to be like Yurtseven, a Gleaguer who hangs his hat on O who will I think make a roster at some point but may not play that much given D. It hurts he is not a true PG either. But he is getting somewhat better and has great shooting numbers lately. Mostly learned to maximize what he does well.

wish we had shot better from 3, that second half we were trading 2s for 3s largely. hopefully we come around. Duke and Kansas each shot 15% from 3 tonight, yuck. Please don't utter the schools Duke & Kansas when referencing Georgetown. It should be something like, Indiana (PA.) shot 12% and Gettysburg's best shooter was scoreless. That seems like more apt comps. I still feel better that we missed hard shots or didnt take enough good ones, where I think we can improve, then I would if we were like them, who i felt, missed wide open shots so often and maybe less equipped. There has definitely been some teams or players at georgetown where I felt the talent wasnt there. I still feel things are correctable. It will just be more frustrating if they dont, bc the talent is there. I do like the energy on the team, just needs more cohesiveness and poise. A lot of these guys have only 1 year of basketball under belt. Wahab, I'm a little harder on.

Jaylen Brown shot 29% from 3pt his one year in college as well. his first year as an nba starter, 39%. if aminu can be at 36% then improve and add a GPIII level energy to a team, he will find a role, if this playoff series is showing anything. You can be a non-shooter a la Draymond but you need to provide an elite skill or you ride the pine - and even if you are a Duncan Robinson with some of the best shooting stats in the last decade, you sit if you can get picked on defensively.

From same website: thehoopsresource.com/bracketology/Potential turnarounds: Here is another crazy, not that crazy one. I think you got to like Ewing’s portal work. Getting Wahab to come back really put it over the top to me. He’s one player that had played better under Ewing in the past before he left, but I do not believe he did anything to discredit his ability at Maryland. I had him ranked higher than most. Unfortuantly Ewing is still the coach but this level of talent will bring expectations. NCAA or bust this season or he’s likely fired. He fluked his way to an Auto-bid NCAA team once, I think he can get there at large now possibly with this level of talent. You give a good coach like Tom Izzo this roster and I might have them top 20, that’s the difference. I don’t believe in banning people, and, in fact, support letting everyone have their say. But this is a pretty good example of why a number of people (not just 2 or 3) are fed up with you. Oh no, a bunch of anonymous people on a message board are unhappy with me. What will I do? Just own it and become a syracuse fan, i hope, at least we are still beating them

pre all star break, he had a O rating of 22, post 111. pre, 3 pt % of 14%, post, 38%. pre, -22 plus minus, post, +9 pre, true shooting 15%, post, 58%.
when he was given significant minutes and acclimated, he did ok.
the biggest surprise is lack of steals. but I think he has shown positional awareness and in the games i watched he did his part.
he could float around but i think its too early to tell, uphill battle given age and potential, but hopeful!

We are ranked 351st, out of what, 355 teams? in 2pt FG percentage offense in the country. For a major team, I'm seriously asking - where does this rank all time? And I would be curious how those teams did / how they made changes.

Kaiden has been the same player for 4 straight years, he isnt going to change now. no rebounds or assists is who he is a lot. One has to worry though Dante is that player too - will he also be the player who takes 17 foot jumpers with 15 seconds in the shot clock for his career? insanity is repeating the same thing over again and expecting different results.

And I am counting the number of times Dante shoots with 17+ seconds left as a turnover, given the shooter he is, which is way too often and indicates he really has a long leash by Ewing. The announcers said during the game, you can't give away possessions in the BE, especially as a undermanned team, and its super frustrating/shows a lack of awareness by your game manager.
I love his quickness, but he hasnt yet worked out how to make that an asset to pass to someone cutting or draw the foul - too often he goes for contorting, circus shots instead of simply making the simple play and if he gets pushed around, make it to the line.
