we shot like $hit... turned the ball over and didn't get the ball to Greg early enough. Correctable errors, but only if THEY WANT TO FIX IT. They gotta understand it goes through greg and quit trying to be a hero. We're down by two and we shoot a 3 to try and win. Then we come back down two again, and we jack another 3 and miss it. Then we need a 3 and they jack up an airball. If we had attacked in any of those possessions maybe its different. But still, TURNOVERS AND MISSED SHOTS arent going to cut it. Poor execution

I'm not going to bail on JT3, but this slide is pretty awful. This was as bad as I have seen Austin Freeman play, not that he didn't have lots of help. Greg and Jessie can hold their heads a little higher than everybody else.
We don't belong in the top 25 right now.

Pass the ball to Greg.
There, I fixed us.

18 -11 year end, 19 - 10 if we're lucky. Marquette will eat us alive next weekend.

I don't care what each player we recruit next year does, if they can't rebound - we are going to continue to be a .500 team in conference. We are playing for the first time with no players that Esh recruited - so far it is clear that we have a group of players that are highly talented but do not show motivation or the hustle to rebound or the focus to run the half court offense and select the proper shot and prevent turnovers. Until we learn to do that this team will not grow up and will not succeed. We can't bail on the guys as they learn what is expected of them when playing as a unit and not as individuals, but I feel the rush to the exits has begun.

right now, we are about as good as the team that lost to tennessee and barely beat memphis (see the memphis v. tn game which finished within 1 point). Id say all three teams are about even.

I can't help but wonder if there is something going on off the court somewhere around this team/coach/program. I've never seen a group that looks that disinterested in winning. Neither their heads nor their hearts were there, expect for Greg's heart.

I really don't get why Jessie is not taking it to the rack. I mean, he broke a kid's ankles today, and after that he just settled from the outside the rest of the game.
Not that I am singling Jessie out for today's loss, that was a group effort no question, but this one just mystifies me.

both they're big men had four fouls and we didn't take it inside for like 10 mins. Finally we do get it to greg but it's too late. I just don't understand. Do these guys make every 3 in practice? what makes them insist on carelessly passing the ball around for 30 secs and then hoisting up garbage 3's.

Awful. Really awful. This team seems to be regressing. I have LESS confidence in Wright, Sapp and Freeman now then toward the beginning of the season.
1. Wright is killing us. I understand he missed time last year but the FG %, TOs and overall decision-making are killing us. From Wallace last year at the point to Wright this year is, IMO, the biggest position to position drop off since last year. What's the stat total? 35 TOs over the last two games? 40?
2. Effort. We need to see more effort. More effort on the offensive and defensive glass. More effort in ballhandling. More effort closing out perimeter shooters on D. More effort defending the interior and playing help defense on the interior.
3. Thompson needs to get his a^^ in gear. This team has a tremendous amount of talent but it's not being highlighted. Summers needs more shots. Figure that out. Defend the in-bounds better. Figure that out. Motivate your team.
At 3-4 in conference, this team is needs to right the ship quickly or they will be fighting for an NCAA Tourny spot.

SH ended the game on a 27-15 run, from the point we were up 8 and DS fouled their 3 pt. shooter. WHOLE team should be back next year. Also, most of our late points were GREG INSIDE - NOTHING from 3 - 5 for 39 from 3 the last two games. CAN we recruit a SNIPER or 2? And WHEN was the last time anyone on here saw us extend the defense to even TOKEN pressure in the back court? We let teams dictate tempo and we just stick to "our stuff". The STUFF is Bogging our kids down and does not allow them to get out in the open and get easy points and too much pressure is put into the half court Stuff. Can we evolve to the next level some time this year? Damn this is so frustrating.

There's not much redeemable about this year's team. Its just frustrating that we got convinced this could be a good season. And with one recruit on the way, and two of our best possibly leaving, its not getting any better.

Seton Hall did not play well. There's no such thing as saying "give them credit, they played really well" in this one. Seton Hall sucked. We sucked more. This is shameful, and I say that without hyperbole. Wow, just wow....
There's no doubt that a lot of blame needs to be placed on the coaching staff for this one. Why continue to jack up threes when we're only down 2 and haven't been able to hit the broad side of a barn all day? Why not go down low? Why not take the ball to the hole even when we're down 3?! Get a quick 2 and foul again... Horrible decision making by players and coaches all around...

I'm so mad right now that I have tears in my eyes. Sad thing is, I can guarantee that none of the players have tears in their eyes.
I disagree that this is on the coaches. This is on the players. Egotistical, non-caring, get my shots, no defense, no hustle outside of Monroe. We just lost to a team we should've beaten by 25, easy. A team with one, ONE, freakin big east level scorer. A team with no bigs and a team that has nowhere near the talent, but quadriple the heart.
Let's face it. Our team has no heart, nothing ticking inside its chest. This is embarrassing, and because this team has no heart, nothing ticking inside its chest, we may not get out of this rut. We don't have the character.
I was so wrong about this team. I thought our vast talent would lead to a ton of wins. But this has nothing to do with inexperience. We have no heart. No gumption. No will to fight back.

I'm a senior, and these last two games are by far the worst performances I've seen in the JTIII era....

the coaches have to take some responsibility. did you see some of that garbage coming out of timeouts? teams have adjusted to us, but we keep trying the same thing over and over. it's as much about coaching as it is about players giving garbage effort.

This is why I hope JTIII is offered a huge deal w/another program. I am sorry, and this may get edited, but this is the worst post I have seen in months. How can you possibly want that? First, Gtown is a tough job with the discrepancy in money relative to other school, so who would want to replace him? Second, how can you possibly forget how bad we were before he got here? Third, he took us to the FINAL FOUR in his third year, did you forget that? Take that trash elsewhere because if you think the coach that would theoretically replace III is going to be closer to III's level of coaching than Esherick's, then you are severely mistaken. We are in a tough stretch and maybe III has not done a good job in it, but look at the whole body of work, people, before posting trash like the above. With few exceptions, III has been one of the best in-game coaches I have watched over the past 3 years. Period.
