Also in terms of student attendance- the general vibe I've gotten is that a lot of people didnt go last night so that they could make sure they would be able to go on Saturday. I have a feeling pretty much only the people who actually have an exam during the game (12:30-2:30 or 4-6) won't be there, just about anyone who's done is sticking around, and the people who arent are actually attempting to not procrastinate so they can get to this game. Its pretty clear this will be one of the bigger matchups all year and definitely the biggest non-conference at home in a while. EXCELLENT! Great to hear!! GO STUDENTS!

Students are definitely going to come out for this one. Monday night was expected in terms of turnout.
Having lived in Memphis for 18 years, I originally thought this series was going to tear me apart, but I now know it's obvious which team to choose: GU. On facebook, there is a "Memphis Hoyas" facebook group. The other day, the administrator of the group had the "audacity" to send out an email asking the other memphis hoyas if we wanted to get a Memphis cheering section together. I am happy to report that said message was met with uproar and an even greater outpour of support for Georgetown.

You forgot to close the tag. If you click on this link: ncaabbs.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=499You'll see great comments, such as this: "If we lose to Georgetown then we won't make it past the 2nd round this year. I haven't seen anything from Georgetown that excites me or makes me think they're even a contender or in the upper echelon in the Big East. I would be more afraid of playing UAB/Tulsa on the road the Hoyas. If we score in the 70's then we will win this game. " AND THIS: "My comment was based on the simple fact that Georgetown is garbage this year, The Verizon Center is not as hostile of an environment as TBA in Knoxville also so this shouldn't be that hard of a road game for us. I don't know if yall have watched GT this year but that are pitiful and I don't see any advantage they have over us period. This would be a horribly embarrassing and demoralizing loss for our team and their ego if we get beat by this year's Georgetown team. I'm more afraid of the Orangemen at home than the Hoyas on the road by far." My favorite is the comparison between Austin Freeman and Antonio Anderson. They both play with "big hearts" but Antonio has a "bigger heart".

Please tell me that Anderson's heart is not approaching Hansbroghian levels. If so, the Hoyas are in for a long afternoon.

On a somewhat related note, I think Austin does not get some credit because he plays so effortlessly and looks completely calm out there. That does not mean he doesn't care or he doesn't have a "big heart" (which is just a completely useless and stupid expression anyway).

Well you know Jessie will be ready because he takes it one game at a time.

I think both guys were reasonably complimentary of Monroe. Withtherspoon rightfully supports his guys, making the point that they have more experience. I had to chuckle when Evans was asked what bad habits he had to break. He smiled and asked the interviewer: "On the court?".

the coach cal video is ridiculous. He's always trying to build up the oposition but you can tell he doesn't believe it. Kept saying we beat someone by 100pts the other day. I love how the reporters seem to sincerely believe him. Gee golly coach don't we have any advantages at all? well.... i suppose we might have a little more depth but that's it. We're screwed in this game.
I also love his talk about how he can't get anymore tickets. And i'm thinking that's odd cause i've gotten 3 different emails from the hoop club telling me tickets were available. Clearly i have better connections than coach cal.

They better step it up a notch, or they could take it to another level. He needs to turn up his intensity level, that’s the key to the game. On paper, it’s a good match-up, but there’s no love lost between these teams. All he has to do is take care of business.
